Thumbs down Happiest Homecoming on Earth DVD

i just bought the "happiest homecoming on earth" dvd

for anyone that has been wondering if they should get it . . . don't

it's $29.99 and it's not even worth that much.

i just got done watching it and i felt like i was watching an infomercial on disneyland. it was so cheesey and had nothing to do with the 50th (except for a little 2 minute speel about how it was important)

it is serioulsy a waste of money

I second that!! Maybe I can use it as a coaster like my old AOL disks.

Re: Happiest Homecoming on Earth DVD

I hope that it is not just a re-vamped DVD of that free one that they were sending out a few months ago. It was basically just an eight minute commercial.

If it is, that's not right. They shouldn't be selling that to folks. It was free and still not worth it.

Maybe you could return it for a refund???

    Thanks for the warning.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't think this is the "secrets" one that got postponed - at least I'm hoping it isn't! That one looked great - still hoping for its release.

Don't bring chips! You won't be able to keep them down. Count how many times the footage is of WDW on this Disneyland DVD.
Want a good DVD get the one from http://windowtothemagic.com half the cost and 100% better.

It is most defintately NOT the Magic and Secrets of the Magic Kingdom DVD that has been, for some unkown reason, delayed by the folks in Burbank who once again have there collective heads up thier *****. This abomination is nothing but TV commercial after TV Commercial all put together and a new cover on the case. They should be ashamed for marketing this thing as a "Celebration of Disneyland's 50th Anniversary". There is very little on the 50th other than conceptual artwork, even some shot of WDW Magic Kingdom claiming it is of Disneyland. The old parade is shown, the old fireworks are shown. Please, if you have been thinking of this thing, don't waste your money.

Re: Happiest Homecoming on Earth DVD

When is the secrets DVD expected to come out?

And one more question, where are they selling the Hapiest Home Coming on Earth DVD? Just at Wal-Marts/Targets/Costcos? Or is it an item that is only sold in Disneyland?

Oh that's just completely from the Land of Wrong. No way. Magic Kingdom is shown and referred to as Disneyland? Ouch. I mean... I'm offended that in the official guidebook to Disneyland that Cinderella's Castle is silhouetted behind the Disney characters on the "Disneyland Park" page.... And I'm absolutely freaky for WDW.

Thanks guys... you just saved me 30 bucks on my trip!

Re: Happiest Homecoming on Earth DVD

I can't find any information as to when the Magic and Secrets of Disneyland will be released. Amazon still had it advertised as being available July 10th. I had it on order so I wrote them as explained that I had heard that Disney had but the DVD on hold. They wrote back saying that they had not been informed of this, as far as they knew the DVD would be release on July 10th. Then a week later I got another E-mail from Amazon letting me know that they had invistigated this further and yes, the DVD was indeed indefinately delayed. It still has a no release date.

As far as I know the rotten DVD is only sold at Disneyland Resort, DCA and Downtown Disney. I have not seen it elsewhere, although now that they gone back on thier word about the 6 CD Musical Memories of Disneylad set would only be available at Disney Direct, Disneyland Resort and WDW, it would not surprise me to find it at Wal Mart or Cosco. Anyway they can make a buck, be it a good buck or a bad buck, they will do it. to the almighty doller.

Re: Happiest Homecoming on Earth DVD

I too bought this DVD and couldnt believe how bad it was.
Again, I was looking for an Updated "A Day at Disneyland"
Why cant they do a new video like that? I would love to be able to find
A Day at Disneyland on DVD. That one was a classic.
