Re: Sleeping Beauty Castle: What to do?

I too want a Dragon. Since the Castle is "Grandfathered" as posted, there is no need for elevator. Have a spiral staircase where the old walk thru was, and have animated scenes from S.B or any other classic movie (maybe even theme it for holidays). At the end have the dragon...damnit I want that dragon.

Re: Sleeping Beauty Castle: What to do?

Take the space at the top of the stairs and gut out the window areas, turn it into a meet and greet throne room for Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip. Put in stained glass windows or new dioramas in the stairs up and down, which can be a queue area in which only so many are let in to the castle at a time - - this way there is too much supervision of the space for terrorist concerns - and a highly desirable locale for which to shoot/sell pictures. Empty into Princess Shop

Re: Sleeping Beauty Castle: What to do?

Some great ideas here so far. Here's my two cents worth:

I would a create a Sleaping Beauty dark ride using Tower of Terror-like elevator technology. On the Castle's right side (looking South) guests would enter a "Magical Chamber" narrated by the three Good Fairies. The Chamber would rise and float and slowly rotate through animated scenes of the Sleeping Beauty story. The Chamber would then move latterly through more scenes across the Castle's upper floor before decending down the left side of the Castle and below ground for the climactic battle between Prince Philip and the Dragon. The Chamber would then complete the circle by returning to its original position where the guests would deboard.

About a five minute ride.

There's nothing you CAN do with it without altering the castle. I say build out the back of it and make a small restaurant with princesses.

A new attraction inside Sleeping Beauty Castle.

The old walk through is done, history, kaput and it aint coming back. What would you put in its place? Here are the rules of this assignment:
  • Space is tight but you may expand into the small shop downstairs.
  • The Castle must look the same from the outside.
  • The new attraction must be secure and ADA compliant.
  • You may not demolish and rebuild the Castle to make your attraction fit. You must work with what currently exists.
  • You may go under ground.
  • It should be a C or D ticket, but E ticket ideas are also welcome.
  • Your attraction must be story based and family friendly.
  • Your attraction must fit the theme of Sleeping Beasty Castle and Fantasyland.
  • Your budget is $5,000,000.

Ready? Go!

Well the Dungeon will be freed up once Eisner leaves, him and his Dominatrix will be taking the toys with them too.....

I say just tear that old castle down and build a pin trading shop.
