Also, we have to remember that the Bellagio Fountains are just that, fountains. While WoC will incorporate fire and I wouldn't be surprised if that effect the system they use for the water sprouts.
I wonder if this show will cause Bellagio to upgrade/update their fountain show? It'll be interesting to see what happens after all is said and done.

The sun had dimension so I can't see why the face wouldn't.
The Mickey audience is not made up of people; it has no racial, national, political, religious or social differences or affiliations; the Mickey audience is made up of parts of people, of that deathless, precious, ageless, absolutely primitive remnant of something in every world-wracked human being which makes us play with children’s toys and laugh without self-consciousness at silly things, and sing in bathtubs, and dream and believe that our babies are uniquely beautiful. You know…the Mickey in us.
-Walt Disney

I think he simply means that with the technological advances since the Bellagio show was installed in 1998, they may be interested in some of the capabilities they're creating for this show.
I guess it's the same that whenever WDE/WDI creates a new fireworks show, they incorporate technologies that have come around since their latest.
The Bellagio may be looking for a little revamp, just as the Mirage volcano recently underwent.
I don't know that they will, just trying to interpret.
I hope the Mickey Head has some dimension. They do seem to be adding a lot of reinforcement to the Wheel to support it's weight and contours. Anyone else think they're just assembling the head off site and will just crane it in one night while nobody's looking?
Oh, someone's always looking!

Haha. Tis true.
This thread is quiet tonight.
Weird.
having seen the platforms up close in my travels backstage, they are not steel, but some kind of fiberglass, the grates look like plastic. the black and blue tubs are floats, it seems that the entire platform raises and lowers, but from the number of floats I would guess that the scissor lifts don't actually lift the platform, the floats do. The blue floats look like they have water or air connections on them. With the number of fountains it makes sense to use a large platform instead of catwalks. The large black boxes look like they have water tight hatches on the top, so maybe they house equipment that needs to stay dry.

And this concept art shows the Mickey will be somewhat dimensional.
Look carefully at the elevation on the left.
