Could someone have decided to actually build a proper catwalk next to the track for more effiecient evake of the coaster when it stall on the first portion of the attraction. Right now the catwalk is narrow and only on one small section of the launch area. They could very well be extended it all the way to the beginning of the lift.

If that is the case lets hope that more rockwork is added in front of it and/or that it will not be so highly visible from across the bay
I think those supports are too far from the track to be used for that, along with it goes further than the flat portion of the track. Also, I believe there is an existing built in catwalk that they can pop up when needed. It may be small, but for evacuation purposes, that's all that's needed.

Quite interesting... anybody else have any ideas as to what the mysterious foundations are for?

So, the Swings will take 9 months to retheme, and we are to believe that the entire entrance and sunshine plaza remake will only take 9 months?

People keep saying it won't take that long to just change the store fronts, however that is far from all that will be happenning.

The Carthay has to be built. the golden Gate Bridge removal and adding the new bridge structure. All of the new fountain work and the list goes on and on.

It would be difficult to finish this in 9 months even if they started the entire project at the same time, however it will be impossible to complete this only working on one section at a time, within 9 months.

    Something doesn't add up.

Yeah, but almost all the western end of the pier will be under construction along with the swings and will be completed in 9 months as well. The same will most likely happen with Buena Vista Street. The Carthay and 1/2 of the street may get worked on in 4 1/2 months, and then the red car and second half of the street done in the next 4 1/2 months. Disney might even increase its workforce for Buena Vista Street. I have confidence it will be done on time.

EDIT: Said eastern side of pier rather than western. I fixed it...

There is only so much that can be done to the attraction at one time without having work crews interfering in each others work

The entrance will have diferent sections being worked on at the same time. The whole Carthay section could be worked on at any time since it does not affect guest flow.

There is a reason they could build a new theme park in a couple years compared to taking several years to modify existing infrustructures. A new theme park has many crews working on specific projects that eventually all get finished at around the same time. A large project like that easily being finished in the same time one attraction takes to build now-a-days
