I don't know, but presumably after the fun wheel opens.

Again, the scissors are there to keep the platform in place, not to lift it. That is what the float system is for.

All that proves is the grating is fiberglass, not the actual grid structure.

I got some construction pictures on Thursday:

These are some of the large pipe which starts near Orange Stinger.

I also got pictures of the black grates which are DuraGrate as you can see in a closeup of the label from one of the pictures:

Here's a picture of the blue things:

Maybe they are trying to make the pit look like it has wooden walls and not concrete?

Not soon enough! LOL - late summer is the approximate date time frame that's floating around. I wonder if the make over of the shops will start now?

That would be the top surface (which we've already discussed) but the yellow grid under it is what we were referring to as the platform itself. Are you still suggesting the yellow beams are fiberglass?

Floats... FLOAT. You still need to hold it it rigidly in place.

I was referring to the structure itself - not the decking. The decking I already speculated was plastic way back in the thread. If its fiberglass as we've seen now.. I think that's close enough to say I was right.

The framework still needs to support itself else it would flex. Especially with large jets firing off attached to it or on it.

Over or under inflating the tanks does not change their displacement unless you use them like true ballast tanks which means you let water in when you take air out. There is no way they'd bother with dozens upon dozens of ballast tanks. Why? Because each tank would require controlled valves, sensors, and all the infrastructure to interwork them together. It's way too much complexity and cost for a simple problem (and especially since it lives under water where it's not easily accessible). It amplifies the # of fail points you have for such little gain. It's not a smart move for a system you expect to be operational EVERY day w/o delay.

Over inflating them will not add displacement therefore does nothing to add more buoyancy. And adding bouyancy does not necessarily add stability. That's why a boat still rocks back and forth as you move around.

This is not a statics problem - this is a dynamics problem because you have changing forces from the jets, wind, and the other show elements.

The brown may very well just be a primer. They've used a similar color before.

Awesome zoom work. Thanks for posting those. Puts the grating to bed and as far as I'm concerned... the framework as steel too. You don't use angle brackets and bolts to corner join fiberglass. That is unless you want it to crack and split.

Interesting.. definitely a supply line and interesting they've built it zig-zagging.. presumably since it's above ground and to protect it from movement. I'm going to speculate it's an air or water line. I wouldn't think they'd leave a gas line exposed like that and not in an iron or metal pipe. I'm leaning towards air.

Coool, that looks better! I was concerned they were going to leave the cement pit untouched.
