    TR2N and Tomorrowland

Today's entry on Blue Sky Disney blog:
    Blue Sky Disney: Big Tron...

So, with a movie production budget of $300 million, to get their ROI, I wonder if TR2N is in Disney's plans for Tomorrowland's future "renewal". Will they give us another Peoplemover TRON Tunnel or a nice big new E ticket?

I wonder if Al will poke around on those and get some dirt for us in a future article.

I'm also wondering why our Vancouver Sun is reporting on it. Is the movie being filmed in Vancouver?

That could be interesting. I cannot wait for Tomorrowland to be redone. I just hope they don't make it worse than it already is.

I hope Disney doesn't jump the gun. This might be a great attraction but if the movie fails, all we will have is another Dick Tracy memory.

I wouldn't mind at all, provided the movie and attraction were both solidly enjoyable. The theme certainly fits.

I really hope they don't do the attraction simultaneously with the movie. The entire idea of doing both at the same time seems kind of irresponsible since no movie is ever a guaranteed success.

But the attraction would also be hinging partially on the success of the original which is why the sequel is even being made. The movie has a nostalgia fan base all ready. It might be possible that they could build a Tron ride now and have a huge success even with out the sequel at all?

i love Tron, and i always like the aspect of it that was in the old People Mover ride, so i am all for the sequel and a new ride as well.

    Re: TR2N and Tomorrowland

They can do the two simultaneously if they aren't basing the theme park solely on the plot of the movie. If they put some thought into it and create the WORLD and not the MOVIE then the theme park version can stand on its own, independent of the movie. This, in my opinion, is where FNSV fails. It relies completely on the movie and isn't a world of its own in which familiar elements from the movie can exist.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

I think Tron has already established itself enough to the point where they could do some serious theming, even with a new Peoplemover, and have it be relevant to Tomorrowland in general.

I asked Tony Baxter once about the future of the People Mover. He did mention that he's looking into TRON.

Me likey! (I'm also partial to the "Incredimover" idea as well). But a TR2N (they really should call the sequel that IMO) theme is brilliant. Maybe they could then try the "Incredimover" over at California Adventure ...

    Re: TR2N and Tomorrowland

I approve of them making TRON a part of Tomorrowland, as others have said, if they make it about the world and being immersive and themed to that, rather than a specific new film...the themes and world would be nice to see in Tomorrowland, so I say bring it on.

Any revival of the PeopleMover would be great, although I'm still a little resistant to movie tie-ins outside of Fantasyland. But then Tron is a pretty good match...

    Re: TR2N and Tomorrowland

I really have no idea what Tron is (does anybody under 30?)...
I just watched the Tr2n "trailer" on YouTube and it looked pretty lame.

I don't see how this fits the Tomorrowland theme either, people are never going to live inside computers (or whatever it's about).
