Rock N Roller Coaster

I heard they were tearing down the Hyperion Theatre in DCA for a rockin rollercoaster. Anyone else heard this? Any truth to it? Let me know.

I thought they wanted to remodel the theater and make the outside have a classic theater look...instead of a painting of fake buildings/street/sky

Ouch....no love for California Screamin......that's painful to hear considering it's a fun coaster to ride....but fun doesn't have anything to do with theme. I'd love for RnR to come to the west coast...but, let's just get through phase 1 first.

I find this rumor
a bit difficult to
believe.

Based from the theme
enhancement plan and
as well as a small clip
scene from a certain
video that can be seen
in the Blue Sky Cellar,
The Hyperion Theater is
going to be kept and enhanced
just like the whole Hollywood Backlot
area is going to receive.

Not be removed or replaced.

I always thought that it would be a nice addition to the park though. No Doubt would be better than Aerosmith though out here on the west coast. I've heard the rumors but none concerning tearing down the theatre.

I actually really enjoy California Screamin' and don't even mind that it's a rollercoaster themed to being a roller coaster. It just doesn't make sense for Disney to add another launch coaster that does very little to hide that it's a roller coaster when they already have one. DCA would be much better off with more traditional coaster that is well themed to whatever section of the park it ends up in.

Make it the next Disney mountain. If you're looking for one in the Hollywood section, have it be the Hollywood Hills, you could even bring the Mullholland name over from the pier, lose the Madness part though, and theme it to being a wild ride through the hills of Hollywood. That makes a much better attraction than a launch coaster in the dark with black light cutouts scattered around.

Rocketeer88 and I are on the same wavelength! No Doubt is a better band for something like that...I mean, when the Rockin' campaign came out, why use the Red Hot Chili Peppers when No Doubt is such a better match with the park.

But in response to the real issue...WOAH!? Hyperion into a roller coaster? That totally sounds like it came out of thin air. Im sure they are sticking to the major overhaul and lavish upgrade of the theater. Besides, a roller coaster would not fit in with the area they are trying to reflect. It would just seem out of place next to the Hollywood Tower Hotel circa 1939 on Hollywood Blvd. Right?
