It is scary how close these were to the attendance numbers in 2007.

Re: 2008 Theme Park Attendance

Interesting, Disney (and their partners) could have all of the top nine spots in the world if the DCA project is a success. Even more reason for them to really go all out on the park, and not be satisfied until its attendance is at least is on par with the other US parks. But personally, I think they should aim high and try to pass Epcot.

Re: 2008 Theme Park Attendance

that Domestic list is a bit off.

The MK numbers are a bit high but still would keep it on number one

number four and five should be switch

and number eight should actually be seven but extremely close to six unless the number six numbers are off (i would not know if universal numbers are right) then it could be six

and if all goes well between now and 2012 then hopefully number eight will be competing with the attendance numbers of five or at least its hoped.

Mr Wiggins will become famous soon enough
Re: 2008 Theme Park Attendance

Someone please enlighten me -- how can the DL and DCA numbers have any real meaning without knowing how many of the visitors were APs and two-fers?

My question is how they get this when Disney doesn't release numbers.

Disney does release their attendance stats to TEA/ERA.

Two-fers do only effect price and profit margins. Individual attendance as per park are real numbers unaffected by marketing two-fers.

It would seem that multiple visits on a single day would skew actual attendance figures. However, the electronic information collected tells Disney which data is generated by the same AP holders.

As far as the same people coming to the parks on different days of the year, this stat skews the attendance reports of all parks throughout the world. If anything, Disney's electronic/computerized attendance accounting system makes it's stats more accurate than parks that do not have a similar system.

That isn't entirely accurate.

The 2fer ticket effectively gives DCA away for free, and the marketing for it even proves this. The question is, how many people who are visiting DCA for free would have still visited if they had to pay for it?

Considering the public's initial reaction to DCA and the need for Disney to create a 2fer promotion would suggest that not many people would pay for DCA.

It's valid to assume that the FREE admission to DCA provided by the 2fer promotion (and Annual Passports, for that matter), directly affect the annual park attendance numbers.
