Monsters or Villainy at the Pier

It has been partially discussed it
    seperate threads about adding a
new attraction at Paradise Pier that
would be a fun house type attraction
    such as:

    1. Fun House that would feature
    either the Monsters Inc. characters
or the Disney Villians from various classic
    films.

    or

    2. A darkride themed to a dark
ride that would feature Disney villians.

The idea is promising. The question is
what attraction of the two would you
    like to come to realization?

Or perhaps you don't like the idea
at all and would prefer a different idea
    instead?

If you do like the idea, what details,
    storyline, or specifics would you
enjoy to have be put into it?

    Wouldn't it be fantastic to
    finally have an attraction dedicated
    to the Disney villains?

Would you like or dislike the Monsters Inc.
    attraction being relocated from Hollywood
    Pictures Backlot to Paradise Pier?

    Your thoughts?

Bring on the bad guys they need more space in the parks, perhaps an old boardwalk style spook house full of baddies

^ Mentioned that a few times. Taking the past boardwalk darkrides of "haunted house" & "Spook House" rides, mix that with Disney Villains on a wild mouse coaster (hence a retheme/redo to Mulholland Madness). Using a completely new track & new wild mouse coaster tech.

I have more detailed thoughts I posted a while ago.

EDIT: I can't copy & paste right now. But the thread is called "Disney Villain Spook House"

I would like a dark ride based on Disney Villains. but what would it be about? You can't just have lights shine on different villains to scare you.

I went with the fun house with Villains.

A darkride could use the "Flashlight" idea that they have the Monsters Inc. Ride at TDL. Using a trackless system you need to find the hidden villains hiding and capture them. It could also be designed as a classic darkride with Pretzel style cars.

I would love this idea but to me it seems too similar to Midway Mania which would be right next door.

True, but if it was a system like this version... (ETF Ride Systems) Forlorn Fairytale Book. You would get to pick which path you took through a spooky fun house or some such place.

I would love something with villains.
For certain you must be lost to find the places that can't be found. Elseways, everyone would know where it was.

Re: Monsters or Villainy at the Pier

In my opinion this is how things should go:

Paradise Pier gets a walk through fun house attraction featuring Disney villians, a very fun detailed attraction that would take you through a series of special effects and more. I think making it an excellent guided tour and each time there are secret doors that provide different rooms so you get a different expierence every time would be great. Something like a updated Mystery Castle tour style attraction.

In Hollywood Pictures Backlot if they could retheme the entire area to Hollywoodland and have some sort of agreement between the mayor of Hollywoodland and the tenticle guy in Monsters Inc, so that Monsters Inc could have unique version of Ride n Go Seek at there new Monsters Inc Laugh Factory Hollywood District. From there guest enter through a queue that have zero TV screens and feature Mike and Sully in a preshow where they are working with trainees to provide power for Hollywoodland, not enough power is being provided so they go the maintence veichles to get some flashlights and create laughter. Thec ars would be the same as Tokyo's but would have a black base and no track, but the track would just provide variety and not be used the same way as Pooh to reduce cost, think how TSMM has seprate tracks so they can stay longer at the screens. This would be done so that guest have more time to utilize the flashlight technology. Then they would go through a series of showrooms. I think it could work if they were to drop some of the modern items and change the plot of the ride with the finale being Randal catching Boo and you use for Flash Lights to blind him and Boo is saved by you, Mike and Sully. Also the outside would have of course the giant building but instead of being just that, it would extend outward and then behind it would be a much more nostalgic factory type building that would give it a Hollywoodland feel.

Finally, Paradise Pier could get a new attraction that would be a major E-Ticket replacing Flight School and it would deal with Magicans and what not to give it a Disneyfeel.

    That is my thoughts...

    The attraction would have
    a totally different ride system.
Or even just be a walk-through
like most traditionally fun houses are.

    The Incredibles would be interesting
but the Disney villains or the characters
from Monster Inc. would best be fitted
on the pier because it is know that most
common boardwalk piers do have haunted/fun house
    attractions.

    This would definitely add some
uniqueness to the line of attractions
to the pier. Perhaps having a walk-through
attraction based on the villains would be
best. Especially on how the way you
    briefly described it.

Perhaps a ride housed in a Victorian home in which several Disney villains kidnap Mickey Mouse or some other classic character fitting in with the Paradise Pier theme, and taunt the guests as you ride in a brisk, spinny vehicle (not a coaster) through a series of trippy special effects... colored lights, smoke, mirror rooms, revolving rooms or a "barrel" effect, optical illusions... limitless possibilities. That's how I would imagine this type of ride.

An old fashioned/new fashioned funhouse would be a fun change of pace. A "Villians" theme is certainly not the only theme that would work, but it's a good one.

I posted this a couple of days ago in the big thread but this is my opinion on the whole fun house/haunted house ideas being thrown around here

"In my opinion if there is going to be a fun house/haunted house on the pier it should be modeled after the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose. It's architecture is Late Victorian which fits almost too well into the pier setting and I think it would be a lot of fun walking through the maze of hallways and dead-ends."
