04-18 New camera, uber novice photog, random shots

Finally bought my 1st digital SLR and took it for a test run today with the family....

I've got a lot to learn about settings, lighting etc. Read the manual twice...its starting to make sense...maybe. Need to start training myself to compose a shot rather than the "drive by shooting" 200 pics approach. lol.

BTW... its a Canon EOS XSi with a 55-250mm IS lens too.

Random shots... enjoy.

Didn't feel too busy at all. We arrived a little after 8am and was smooth sailing all the way until about 11:30am. We were visiting the child rides for the most part and not the "bigger thrill" attractions... We left the park around 3:30pm but it still did not feel jammed like I was expecting with the nice weather.

They look great. And you will just get better and better each time you shoot. Was that cap left on the table or are they for sale now? Did you get to ride in the Lillie Belle?

Friendly Conductor "Matt" put his cap down to talk to us during our round trip around the park. Yes, the Lillie Belle trip was worth the effort of asking. We were in the car with another couple and I didn't want to go crazy taking shots of everything like I wanted Other wise...there would have been enough reference photos for Datameister to model a 3d image lol.

For new MiceChatters..... the Lillie Belle is normally a private car (caboose) for special use by Park officials, Club 33 members etc. You can "ask" (not always granted) to ride in the car for one round trip around the park. Just ask a conductor at the Main Street station. For more extensive detail regarding the Lillie Belle car...do a quick search and you will be enlightened....thats how I learned.

Bu- bu- but Mickey! I swear! I didn't mean to! It only happened once!

Tsk Tsk. All she did was max out Mickey's credit cards at Disneyland's newest money grabber, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique!

Really, my favorite shot of the bunch. I have a few photos myself of Mickey and Minnie in funny people-ish kinda poses. I added this one to my collection.

Great photos!

It's about time some shots of the railroad show up around here! (A subject that isn't popular around here )

Congratulations on your new camera!!! I think you'll enjoy taking pictures in Disneyland. It's a wonderful place to shoot, experiment and enjoy. And with a digital camera, there's nothing wrong with "spray and pray." I still do it from time to time myself.

Thanks for sharing these photos with us.
