Hello all! First time doing a trip report here so I hope you all like! So lets start!!
So my sister today had a meeting in Irvine from 8 am-Noon and I asked her if she could drop me off at Disneyland since it was on the way, and she agreed! I really needed a fix since I hadn't been there in over a month so i was excited to walk around and see the new Sunburst and Mickey face.
I got to the resort at around 7:30 and it was nice and quiet...
It's pretty rare to get a shot like this with no people...
Since I was on my own and not in a rush to do anything I decided to take it easy and just "stroll" through the park...
Some Main Street shots:
I did the Sleeping Beauty Walk through and was happy to see that I was the only one in there..I got to take all the time in the world in there. BTW I LOVED the little effect at the end of the dress changing colors.
From there I decided to walk through Fantasyland and go through the Big Thunder Trail and enjoy the atmosphere.
One thing I ALWAYS have to do at Disneyland is the Haunted Mansion! Once again when I got there it was deserted!
When I got in the Foyer I was the ONLY one in there and I literally ran around in there...just because I could!
Having fun the in the Foyer...
Elevator:
After Mansion it was getting pretty hot so i naturally headed next door to my favorite ride EVEEERRRR Splash!
Once again though the ride was dead empty and they gave me a log to myself.......well...not really :P AND had to put me in the front row...but I didn't care about getting wet..it was too hot. LOL
Another shot of the Mountain:
After Splash I headed over to Adventureland and climbed up Tarzan's Treehouse:
Ducks near the exit:
From there I went over to Tomorrowland to ride Star Tours and Space...both had waits of 10 min.
After those it was almost time for DCA to open to I made my way out of Disneyland and headed over to the other park.
DCA had HUGE lines and while i was waiting they open up more lines so they had every turnstile in operation
Once inside they had all the areas blocked off and we waited for the rope drop
The mad rush to Paradise Pier:
Here workers are removing scaffolding from the backside
this is a shot from 10:15 ish (another shot from about an hour and a half later a bit further down):
A bit of the scaffolding is down from the front
From here I headed over to Tower of Terror and it was totally deserted.
After a fantastic ride on tower I went to the Animation building and sat around watching the the screens (LOVE IT IN THERE!...and a great place to be on a hot day!) After that I headed back to the pier..but first making a stop at Blue Sky Cellar...I cant get enough of that place at all!
Back at the Pier more progress was made on the scaffolding removal on the back.
By this time my sister was out of her meeting and I left the park and got picked up at the drop off area. I got my fix of the parks and now I'm a happy camper!
It may have seemed like the parks were dead but when I left both parks were getting pretty packed! That's why I love mornings...never anyone!
Hope you all enjoyed!
