I saw them carting some camera equipment through the park from Critter Country to the Rivers of America yesterday around 3:30 pm. Should have sucked it up and asked.

At around 10:40 last night I looked on the hojo cam and it looked like there were many spotlights circling around from behind the matterhorn. I'm not sure what it was for or where this would be located. Possibly the F! ending? Anyone else see what I saw at that time?

That's interesting... I am a fan of Frank Gehry, and I don't like that particular building.

Although I might if it weren't the reputation of the people inside. That may have had an impact on my opinion..

They would've closed off parts of ROA to film it while at the same time, keep walkways open for the grad nite guests.

That's not much of a window to work in - what, one hour at the outside? They can't start bringing out the New Dragon till the Westside is "Clear to the Hub" of Guests, and that will take anywhere from a half-hour to an hour to clear the queues at Splash, Mansion and Pirates, then shoo everyone out. Then they have to stop shooting and put the Dragon away before the gates open for the Grad Niters.

(They can be putting away the cameras, putting down the towers, and cleaning up with Guests, just like a norrmal first Fantasmic!)

They might be able to do it and get passable shots, but it'll take a bunch of footage to get the "perfect" publicity shots they prefer to release. That, or someone in the Photoshop Lab at TDA is going to be spending a few all-nighters compositing the shots in a computer (and making it all look believable)...

If they were triggering off show effects like the ROA on fire and any Pyro, they would get maybe three or four takes if they loaded all the show tubes with just the effects shells they wanted to use. Then they have to pack up and get out of the way of the Grad Niters.

Any chance of you knowing how the filming went? Like did they just take out the dragon and run through that scene in the show? Or did they just lift him up and take shots? Just curious.
