Character shenanigans

Sorry for the subject line . I'm bored and didn't know how to title really this.

Anyway, I was just wondering something that I bet all you character lovers here on micechat can help me with.

Everytime i go to the park I randomly stumble upon character shows and the like that aren't listed in the time guide. You guys know what I mean... musical chairs, the castle show, etc. I was wondering if anyone did know the set times of things like that.

For instance, if I remember correctly, Musical Chairs is usually about 3pm but I've only caught it on Sundays... is it every day? Is that even the right time for it?

I'm most interested in Musical Chairs, The Castle Show, The Pearly Band & The Disneyland Band when they're out in the morning. However, any other random events you can think of with random characters just playing around that I might be interested would be appreciated too

Any help would be fantastic. Honestly, you'd think I'd already know this stuff by now

Musical Chairs is at 2:30 at the Coke Corner, and I'm pretty sure it's everyday. I think that the Disneyland Band's times are listed on the times guide, and the Castle show is actually the 11:00 showing of the Disneyland Band in front of the castle, that is if I'm remembering my times correctly. Perhaps someone else could check on those also because the times that I know of are Sunday times.

I know for certain that Musical Chairs is there at 2:30pm every day, not just Sundays, but I'm not too sure about the castle show! Were you referring to the Mary Poppins show in front of the castle? I was thinking that was around noonish... But I'm not totally sure =P

No I know the Pearly Band (the Mary Poppins show) is usually at like 2pm.
I meant the show in the morning w/ the band and all the characters outside the castle.

Oh, I got it. I was thinking, 'I knew the Mary Poppins Show can't be that early! I'm never there that early'. =P Haha, thanks for clearing that up =)

I believe that the characters play a little game of "char - a - daes," as the Mad Hatter puts in, after the 11:00 Castle Show outside the firehouse.

Wait a second...there is a Mary Poppins show AND a band and characters show???? I'm in shock...my girls would LOVE to see Mary and Bert! Are there more details, or should I be copying and pasting this whole thread to my faves?

Ding, ding, ding! Correct, pratt55 is a winner! I've seen it a few times, and it's always been the 11am DL Band show as listed in the Times Guide.

Swellpixiegirl, yes, there is another castle show featuring Mary Poppins, Bert and the Pearly Band. It's very, very cute. Unfortunately it's never listed in the Times Guide, but as Kuzcochik mentions below, it's usually around 2pm.


Kuzcochik, there are also some "character shenanigans" with the other atmosphere bands in Town Square. You can find Pluto, Mickey and Minnie dancing along with the Celebration Jazz Band (formerly the Main Street Strawhatters) in the early afternoon. Donald appears with them too, but doesn't join in any of the dance numbers.




And Cruella, Chip and Dale, and Goofy make an appearance with Hook & Ladder Co. Cruella picks an audience member to help her model her latest dalmatian-inspired design. It can be pretty funny if the guest plays along.

Good to know. Thanks for all the info guys. I tend to stumble upon these things so it's good to have a better idea of when to find them.

No worries Kuzcochik! You take really fun pictures too, so the mistake is understandable. Now, if they had credited aashee with one of my photos, then I'd raise a stink and demand a retraction immediately.

And it's kinda ironic, since I'm one of the Round Up crew members myself. LOL!

Oh, and no one has mentioned yet about Mad Hatter and Alice with the Disneyland Band at Main Entrance. Well, you (Kuzcochik) probably know about it already, but for those who don't...







This is at at the 10:00am DL Band performance at the Main Entrance. However, Alice and Mad Hatter don't appear with the band every day. Maybe they only appear on certain days. But if you catch them, it can be a lot of fun!

We had no idea! We walk into the park at opening, and go go go until between 1 and 2pm, then go back to our hotel for swim/food/change/general refreshing, then back into the park between 4 and 5pm for the rest of the evening. Besides a few of the street performers (or TSI performers), we've always missed everything else without a clue they were ever happening! I feel so...oblivious!

That only happens when Hatter feels like it, though. I wouldn't count on it happening all the time.

Musical chairs is actually the same way. Most of the time it is every day, but sometimes Hatter doesn't feel like it, and Alice will go out by herself and just do meet and greets. There have been some occasions where she's run the game on her own, though.
