Haunted Mansion Bride in Stretching Room?

Hi everyone. I have a quick question that I'm hoping the Disney-philes here can answer me. A friend and I recently took a trip to Disneyland. We're both big fans of the new "black widow" bride in the Haunted Mansion, but my friend noticed something interesting. One of the bride's departed husbands was named George… the same name that decorates the tombstone in one of the portraits in the Stretching Room. That George was apparently done in by an axe by his widow (the one atop the tombstone), which is the same way the bride dispatches her unfortunate paramours. My question is: are the bride in the attic and the widow in the Stretching Room portrait one and the same? Any official confirmation sources would be most appreciated!

I do believe Disney is trying to make the connection that the elderly woman in the stretching room is, indeed, Constance, but I don't know if anything's officially been said about it. I guess they just put it out there to see if us Mansion fans would take notice.

There was a lot of discussion about this around the time the new bride was added to the attic. It makes sense to the story if that is the case. But I don't recall hearing anything official from Disney about the connection.

I do believe that it is official. I totally forget where I read it (stupid me!), but the stretching room portraits are important in the revised attic. Constance, the bride, is the girl in both the tight rope walker and the older woman on the gravestone of a husband who died...with an axe! Also, if you pay attention to the wedding pictures, the Marquis is the man on the dynamite barrel, and the fellows in the quicksand are also constances's husbands, although their names escape me at the moment.

If someone could tell me where it might have been that I read it, thank you!

Yes, the widow portrait in the stretchroom is Constance, the attic bride.

But no, none of the other stretchroom portraits are Connie's husbands. (Dude, the Marquis is Chinese.)

HBG2 is an HM expert, so take his word for it.

By the way, all of this was thoroughly hashed over in the "Long Forgotten" series of threads.

As for Widow = Constance, this montage done by mastergracey almost three years ago still makes the argument better than words:

I don't have first-hand knowledge, but people I consider good sources claim that Imagineers have confirmed this to them in person, so if those reports are to be credited, yes it's official.

Thanks much for everyone's replies! I apologize if I resurrected an older thread... then again, an "exhumation" does seem fitting considering the topic.

I know it all matches, but I still think Disney is doing a far stretch.
I don't think the paintings were originally suppose to match up with the bride in the attic.
Disney is going with a whole new story line and is trying to match things up.
The lady (OLDER) on the grave has NO resemblance to the YOUNG looking bride in the attic.
You would have to say she died looking like age wasn't on her sideeand then came back to haunt with a more youthful look (and also lost about 10-15 pounds in her face and had eye/nose surgery).
