Remote Jungle Boats - Disneyland Hotel

    Hi,

Do you know if the Remote Control Jungle Boats at the DL Hotel, can be used by anyone? Or do you have to be a guest at the hotel to play with them?

    As seen in this link....
Adventure on the Remote Jungle Boats at the Disneyland Hotel | The DIS Unplugged Disney Blog, News

I have a fiancee with an amazing collection of old boats, cars and trucks who would probably LOVE to play around with these for a bit.

And I would love to wonder over and come across these with him, you know, kind of stumble on them

Anyone can use them. You need to get some tokens from the machine (a couple bucks, don't really know) and you just pick your helm and go!

The boats actually work better in reverse, but then again, I haven't operated any of them in years...

This is awesome!! Thank you. (BTW - in the link above, where I found these, it is $2 for one token, kind of pricey, but $10 for ten tokens, which I don't think is all that bad.)

Our plane gets in a 1 pm on this Sunday, once we get to our hotel we were planning on taking a wander through DTD......now I know I will gently direct him here.

He is going to love these, I am so glad I found them!

Last time I was there, 1 token was $2 I believe. It was fun playing with those boats, I practically became a JC Skipper since that will be the closest thing to commanding a JC Boat. Be sure to sail yours to a spot that triggers an event.

The boats are even more fun after a few drinks at the Lost Bar. I spent the whole time driving a boat that wasn't even mine.

When my ex and I separated I would take then-toddler DIP Jr there a lot. I was paying for a lawyer and I didn't have the money to go to DL so this was the next best thing.

This little area holds a lot of memories for me. I'll never forget when we were driving the boats around and a couple of ducks were, let's just say, getting to know each other a little more.

Then I heard, "Daddy, what are those duckies doing?"

Shocked, I said, "They're just playing."

hehe... Been there, done that! Well, sort of...

Back when one of my kids was about 3 or so, she would watch the other kids play with the boats, so she would want to as well. Well, being that she was a three year old, I figured I was a little smarter than her so I would tell her which boat to watch and then I helped her with the steering wheel. She was thrilled! She got to drive one!

Well... She THOUGHT she was driving one!

Actually, I was watching another person drive THEIR boat and followed their wheel left and right while I "helped" her drive, so it matched the boat that I told her to watch and "drive". LOL

Yeah, I'm dirty, mean and nasty!!!

That's what my mom tells me she used to do with coin-op arcade games when I was around that age. She'd let me "play" the preview screen, and not knowing the difference, I was perfectly happy. Then one day, some nice guy put a quarter into the game for me, and little baby me realized the difference. My mom jokes that that one quarter wound up costing her hundreds of dollars .

I love playing with these. Our tradition is to eat at Croc's Bits and Bites the night before we go to the park and then play with the boats. I love all the little interactive things you can do with them.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

They are alot of fun. I haven't played with them in a while but if I recall if you move your boat under a bridge or something similiar doesn't it set another boat on fire? Pretty cool!!
