Adventure through Inner Space v. Star Tour floor plan?

Does anyone have any blueprints/layouts/floor plans for either/both ATIS and Star Tours? I've never really understood how the track layout for ATIS related to Star Tours occupation of the same space and I'd love to see a comparison.

    Hey Datameister ... thanks!

I knew the queue for Star Tours followed the same queue path for ATIS. Now .. people can see how they both are similar.

It was such a great ride.

What helped to take any sting out of the loss of it .. was Star Tours was such a fresh, new, unexpected surprise back in 1987! It followed and continued the Disney company's long standing tradition of building attractions that were BETTER than before.

However .... the artistic direction .. and "scope" of the ride made quite an impression on me. If in my lifetime .. Disney ever created a "greatest hits" theme park - This would be in my all time Top Three choices.

I think of all the attractions out of the 1967 Tomorrowland that made the biggest impression on .. ATIS was it!

It surprises me not that it was Data and Nautilus that posted those.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

I've been curious for awhile myself about Adventures Through Inner Space. The few short YouTube segments that I've seen don't show the whole picture. If only I were alive when it was open.

    This is very cool!

Thank you to anazgnos for asking for this info and also to Datameister and Nautilus for the great images. Adventure Thru Inner Space is my all-time favorite attraction.

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Star Tours. I hate the fact that ATIS was displaced by it, but I have great affection for the Star Wars franchise that goes well beyond having been gainfully employed thanks to it. Plus, Star Tours is a great attraction.

At the risk of steering this thread in the wrong direction, I would love to see ATIS brought back and really plussed up. Similar feel and style, but improved effects. Perhaps even a motion base (Indy) combined with the omnimover system.

But back on topic, thanks for the layout pics. I too was wondering how everything beyond the cue/lobby was laid out for these two attractions.

If you want to relive Inner Space, you gotta check this out Welcome to Adventure Thru Inner Space Splash Intro

This guy recreated the attraction -- what a labor of love! I bought the DVD and it is amazing. It's as close to actually riding this attraction as you'll get (until you invent a real time machine!)

I used to always think that the show building was expanded southwards a bit to contain Star Tours, but apparently not.

They could even clear out Innoventions and put this in there instead and I'd be WAY happy. It just seems like an all-around awesome ride from the information I've been able to gather about it. It seems like something you'd only find in Disneyland. Plus the guy who voiced Haunted Mansion voiced this one too I'm sure you know. Some updated effects like you say and it would be a winner.

I also agree, ATIS should be brought back to life in some form. The idea is just too cool and needs to be built where Innoventions is.
