Best Coaster at Night Time?

Out of all the roller coasters in DCA / DL, which one do you think riding at night is the best?

BTM for sure. It's such a different experience between riding it in the day and night. FAR superior to riding it in the day, actually. The very last row at nighttime is the ideal ride for me.

I wanna say California Screaming. For one thing, imagine seeing the whole park all lit up, then imagine being up high and seeing backstage watching the electrical parade get ready.

Definitely Big Thunder Mountain! it seems way faster and much more dangerous!

Why is Space Mountain on the poll? That ride is pretty much the same regardless of what's going on with the sun.

I voted for California Screamin. It is even better when it is raining and at night!

I almost voted for BTMR just for the one time we were on it during the fireworks. It was outstanding!

BTMRR and the Matterhorn tie it for me, though BTMRR is probably ranks a little higher for me, if only because I generally enjoy that attraction more anyway. Both are spectacular during the fireworks.

And while Space Mountain is all indoors, the time of day does affect things somewhat - at night, your eyes are more used to darkness, which makes it easier to see the track and interior, but the lubrication on the tracks has been heated by friction all day, making the ride smoother and quicker in the evening.

Back in the 'good old days' the Matterhorn was the best after dark because of the peepholes at the top of the lift that allowed spectacular views of the Park at night. Since those have been filled in, Big Thunder is by far the best coaster to ride at night.

good points there datameister. I never considered that. The reason why I created this poll was because Brand42 in my other thread Indy vs. Space Mountain said something like which ride do you like better at night space or BTMRR. So that led to this question!

Is that why most rides seem to go a little faster at night? Splash seems so much faster at night.

Big Thunder is amazing at night, you can see the stuff in the caves better.
