Timon Lot construction?

So I'm looking at Darkbeers newest batch of photos from today and it shows the southeast most portion of the lot pretty much torn up.

Preliminary Carsland work? or just regular maintenance of some sort?

I know there is another portion currently being used for WoC stuff but with all these stories of parking being a total nightmare in the area wouldn't they wait on maintenance?

That area will not be part of CarsLand, but presumably a small small parking lot or hopefully just backstage/future expansion area. I'm guessing it's just maintenance/resurfacing and/or rerouting of pipes, etc. away from the CarsLand portion of the lot.

I remember seeing spray painted layout lines on the pavement when I was there in the middle of March. some were marked as structure lines so that would suggest buildings are going up.

because of the area taken away at the north and west side of the Timon lot the trams did not run very far into the parking area. if you parked at the farthest section, by the time you walked to the tram loading area you walked about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way to the unloading area at the transportation plaza.

looks like it is getting closer and closer to the time when Timon will close and the last of the original parking lot will be gone.

I would've thought they would be holding off work on Timon as long as humanly possible too... and would first get some replacement parking in there pronto. But they don't want anything at DCA to get behind, so they might just have to do this first so Carsland can get off the ground on time.

It can't be Cars, they haven't even finished the drawings for it.

Even if this is just maintenance activity, it means that Carsland is on its way! Does anyone know if the Carsland movie will come out before or after the new theme park?

like someone said that area will not be part of CarsLand.

Rumors were that they might move the existing parade structure to the edge of the parking lot and then remove the one that is between the Screamin queue and the soon to be built CarsLand.

That would give them more room in that area without having to deal with the structure.

I just do not see hwo the backstage roads and parade route would then be configured if that was the case

well it will not be a new theme park it will just be a new land to the existing DCA.

The new land opens in 2012. CARS II premiers in 2011
