Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker V

We got a sticky

Nothing in Disneyland is as tall as it looks anyway. Forced perspective is used everywhere to make things look taller. I'm sure that Disney will use strategy, not hight to block out the outside world much like it does in DL with specifically aligned lift hills and all that. You don't have to be big, just smart.

I think that would be kind of neat. It would also be kind of interesting if the cave had a little mist in it

Thunder is pretty low, I'm sure RSR will be taller then that. I think it will be mostly about 80 feet and maybe the top peaks will be a little over a hundred.

Well, what about at least a forum dedicated to DCA projects? I agree it would be nice to be able to talk about individual projects/attractions without having to look at things you're not interested in.

** Note: I'm interested in everything! I just think splitting it all up would be very useful.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker V

On the height of Radiator Springs... remember, we'll have a fairly large show building to start with, maybe 40-50 ft? Say as tall as Indy? (Data, how tall is Indy's show building?) And then on top of that, you could imagine rockwork up another 30-40 ft or so. I could see the top being about 100ft.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker V

This is so true. You can spend forever trying to look through page after page for links you remember seeing, or pictures. It would be nice to have a new Project tracker forum split into Disneyland and DCA, then those split into respective projects, and then we can have the user posts in there.

I estimate some portions well above 100ft. THey have to be tall enough to hide the power lines along the perimeter of the property. There's going to be a HUGE wall along the outside of that.

This will be interesting, because I remember hearing or maybe it was just our speculation that the tallest peaks of the rockwork would be lined up with the power towers behind them, to block them out. I'm sure there will be angles where this won't be effective, but for the most part, it should work.

I wonder how the Queue will be theamed. I doubt the "surfing" theme will last, what will this new building and cave house? Its awseme that they are covering up the first left turn and the last break section and turn. These areas were always unthemed and ugly.

Yeah, you can tell that they are blocking the power lines in this model in the link below, which shows the locations of the poles and as you can see the hills are high to help block the poles and lines. This is not the final version but I'm sure they'll be doing the same basic idea.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker V

I don't know what's worse, the fact that we are on Project Tracker V and we still have three years left or that I have probably ready every single page since Project Tracker I.

Yikes!!

Its going to be interesting to see how the peaks of carsland will look throughout the park! I mean when you walk in the hillsides will be directly behind (but far away) Carthay Theater so even the entrance will be effected.

People are overexagerrating on how tall they will be, trust me. 120ft is ridiculous.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker V

After looking at that model agian, it doesnt even look like it will be that tall at all. RSR has many outdoor parts and a large show building does not seem to be included. The peaks dont have to be as tall as the powerlines to block them out because when looking from the ground the angle will cover them. Don't expect this to be a big mountain at all..
