there are diferent layouts for CarsLand that have been developed.

The modle above has the queue building at the right of the end of the street.

Other layouts have the queue inside the mountain range off to the west end of the rockwork. I think that is the best layout for the land. It really works much better

Sorry, I thought you did not know what the type of ride system it was. I don't think there will be much info about them until it comes closer to their construction. I'm sure the ride will bean updated version of the flying saucers with several modifications for improved reliability.

Can you link any pictures of that? It would be awesome to see. And, are you refering to the building at the top right as the queue building or the one out in front of the ride?

Baloo, which parade building do you speak of? What exactly is the parade route for Carsland? I know it goes down the street but then does where does it break off?

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker V

On a Paradise Pier note, did we ever decide if the huge black platform lifts up before the show?

How do we know there will be a show building? It could just be in the tunnels you can make out on the model and concept art.

Wow, 60 posts in 5 hours. 3% done already.

Actually the model does show the showbuildings. The biggest show building in that model runs west to east all along the back of the attraction.

The building is then covered by rockwork.

Also the show building in that model has the show scenes at diferent levels similiar to how the Indy attraction works with intertwine paths.

the building you see on the west end with no rockwork is the parade building. that is completely seperate of CarsLand

Are you meaning under the tracks on the surface because it really doesnt look like that much room between like the waterfall and the back where the powerlines are. There is room there and that would technically be a showroom, but its not big like the Indy or Pirates showrooms. most of the ride seems to be out in the open or underneath the track and tunnels.

the tunnels are inside a large show building. It is a very long and somewhat narrow building. The rockwork is just facade work to cover the structure

I am not sure if there is any video or art on one of the sites but if i remember correctly WDI did include some footage of the show sections of the attraction in the blue sky cellar video

Im going to say that it does. Those scissor lifts that are underneath the platform look as if they could lift the platform upwards of 10-15 feet. Quite the equipment if only for general maintnance. I would assume that it would lift the platform just to water level under cover of darkness in order to allow precision jets and other partical effects to work unhindered by surface water.

there are no pictures available of the diferent ideas for the land but the artist rendering that has been posted has the layout i like the most.

It is much more detailed than the model.

Notice the completely diferent entrance which has a better transition to the wharf also notice the extended queue that leads people thru the desert landscape and wraps thru the area giving people a nice liesurely walk to the indoor load station

everywhere you see the track go inside a tunnel, it is basically going inside the show buildings.

Notice the diferent elevation of the tracks going into the caves. That allows the diferent show scenes to play without having to many show structures scattered around the layout.

Ahh, I see. I was thinking you meant the same model I can see. I hope someone can find a link or something. As for this model, it just makes it look like most of the showbuilding is under the ride we can see. The point I was making in my original post in PT4 is that this ride shouldnt be a super tall ride, except for the peaks which will block the power lines. (Even though they wont really need to be amazingly tall either) Yes, there is a bit of room in the back where the tunnels dissapear but not enough to really host anything but a desent into some sort of basement or a fairly straight track that exits somewhere else. I cant wait to see the other ideas for the ride though. Obviosly Disney has many ideas floating around. I can still hope they give you a choice of two tracks to take somewhere on the ride.

While the lifts most likely do what you suggest, i seriously doubt that they will need to lift more than a couple of feet in order to get the jets above the lagoon surface.
