Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker V

I think the Racers are shrouded in too much mystery to debate it at the moment, people are just throwing out rumors. Hopefully we'll get more info on it soon. It doesn't really give out any info on what the show scenes will be. I'm wondering if they will be elaborate or not, because it looks like there is a scene where you drive through Radiator Springs at night. That would have to be a big show scene.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker V

Disney should just hire Ty Pennington and a big team of workers. The story of DCA is sad enough, maybe they would make the show. One week from now we could be riding the ride.

This has most likely been stated, but is the fun wheel still opening this Friday?

It should. There have even been hints that it may open early at some point. But it should, for sure, open on Friday, May 8

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker V

Have there been more tests for the lighting on Mickey's Fun Wheel? If so, are all the lights that were out before now working?

There is no doubt that this ride will have dark sections where scenes will happen. Im just saying that there isnt one big wearhouse building hiddenbehind the mountain that the track runs all through passing diffrent effects and sets.
not at all just having a nice conversation.

maybe we have misunderstood eachother. you might be thinking of a large show building behind the rockwork like splash mountain, Huanted mansion or Pirates. That is not hwo the layout will work.

The buildings area actually attached to the rockwork. Basically they will build several large show buildings some being bigger than others but interconnected. Then those show buildings will get the rock fixture attached to it.

It is very similiar to how attractions like Everest and hogsworth are built. LArge square structures with themed rockwork affixed to them. If you walk backstage after its done you will see large showbuildings with little theming to them.

Watching the Racers get built is going to be pretty cool. I am wondering if the inside of the ride will be the same as the Blue Sky video clips of the imagineers with the model. That looked like you actually drove through the center of Radiator Springs and entered the Tire Shop. Can't wait.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker V

Now, I'm not gonna say much, but RSR's is a huge attraction. The inside portion is very detailed and elaborate (think POTC). The space one show scene takes up is about the size of the entire Peter Pan ride! The scenes will pretty much be the town at night and the areas around it before you get to the main street.

I guess its just the model then because between where the track disapears into the mountain, and where the powerlines are behind the model, there isn't a large ammount of space like a standard Disney showroom would usually occupy such as Pirates, Splash, Indy, Small World, etc. I guess we will have to wait until more detailed drawings and models come out to see how the ride will be fit into the space. Really, they could fit the showbuilding into the area between the powerlines and the front of the ride it just wouldn't be one big one, rather one or a few skinnier ones built into the rockwork. Also, the ride surface we see could be the top level underneath of which the showbuilding would be. I really want to get a hold of some elevations for this ride, but we will have to wait and see.

That said, no matter what space they do get, it will be one of the most elaborate disney rides ever made, that is beyond doubt. I'm glad Disney has finaly decided to put this much effort into Disneyland again as the resort hasn't seen a new cutting edge ride since Indy began tours years ago. Its gonna be sick.

Not necessarily... the forced perspective on Main Street, Sleeping Beauty Castle, Matterhorn, etc aren't destroyed by allowing people to walk right up next to them.
