    I say keep the crowns!

I say keep the crowns! The Disneyland castle received crowns for the 50th anniversary. Now there is an exact clone in Hong Kong, (I think of it as an impostor!). I say that the only way to tell the two castles apart is the crowns! So, I say let Disneyland's castle keep its crowns so it can be distinctive. (Let HK Disneyland castle get crowns when it is 50 years old, if it makes it! )

This would not cost anymore for Disney since they have already manufactured the crowns.

    What do you think?

How about, after the 50th, give HK the crowns so we can keep our original castle the way it was.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

The crowns were a nice touch for the anniversary, but I don't think I would like to see them there all of the time. What real castle has crowns on the towers? Let the crowns go to HK or sell them on ebay or something. Let's keep the illusion of real castle. They should bring back the walk through though.

    I agree. with chadb14.

Of course, there are differences in the two castles, however subtle.

I would love to see the crowns posted on ebay!
(sidenote) I'd also like the mini space mountain/honda display

I love the crowns! I think they're gorgeous. I just wish they would make more merchandise of them, like a charm bracelet featuring all five crowns, or even little ones to sell in the park (I would buy one as long as it was sparkelie!!) instead of just an overpriced set of porcelain jewelry box thingies.....

I like what they did for the 50th, but I'd like to see them go away after the 18 months of celebrating is over.

I say bah to the crowns they are nice for the 50th but they are way to much for the castle to much shine on the castle for me....

I too love the crowns, but they should probably go after the 50th. But that leads to another question- should the color scheme of the castle remain the way they painted it for the 50th, with it's more vivid pinks, blues, and golds, or should it go back to the more muted colors, the way it used to be and the way Hong Kong is now?

I personally hope it stays the way it is now- I think that it looks gorgeous. What about everybody else?

I can't believe that I hated the crowns at one point, but now that I've seen them in Real pictures they look awsome! (plus I'm a little miffed at HK for not making theirs a little original)

The crowns give the first and only castle some bling! And atleast it's not a cake! ^_^

I really don't like the decorations on the castle. The crowns aren't so horrible I guess, but please, please get rid of the cheap banners and jewels.
Did you hear about the three blondes who were driving to Disneyland?
After being in the car for hours, they saw a sign that said "Disneyland left" so they turned around and went home.

Re: I say keep the crowns!

I love the crowns and all of the decoration they added for the 50th. Its nice and not gaudy like WDW's castle (yikes!). I agree though, that they should be removed once the 50th is over. Keep the new paint job though. The pictures of the Hong Kong castle that I've seen looks faded and too dull. I think the new brighter, happier colors are much better...

Re: I say keep the crowns!

I wasn't a fan of the concept art, but I LOVE the actual overlay. It is very "royal" and fitting for the celebration. Magic Kingdom's castle, however, still suffers from ugly overlay syndrom. I thought the Magic Kingdom would look better than Disneyland, but it turned out to be the other way around. Now that I think of it, is this the only overlay that Disneyland's castle has ever had for a celebration? I know MK had that pink cake, and DLP had a cake and joker overlay, but DL has never had and overlay. Am I right?
