Rides and attractions you were freaked out by as a kid?

Were there any rides, or attractions that you just would not go on, because they scared you like crazy?

I remember not going on Haunted Mansion because just the idea of ghosts gave me the heebie geebies I would not set foot on that attraction until I was like 11 or 12.
I also hated HISTA my brother still does, the snake was the thing that got me the most.
I didn't want to go on Screamin' until last year because just looking at that wheel terrified me.
I was really scared of the TOT atmosphere but I remember I was like an inch close from reaching the elevator and I completely panicked. It's one of my fave DCA rides now screamin' also.
Thank the Lord I've gotten over these fears cause when I look back on them I'm think "Wow, I'm a little chicken!"

I Still won't go on Maliboomer though....I probably never will...

Indy, the temple and the queue scared me. But I still went and ride.

The Haunted Mansion. How foolish of me when I was a child. I should have went on.....

Here's from a 40 year old:

Haunted Mansion

Snow White (Just as scary as HM. It was much, much scarier than it is now!)

Storybook Land (I swore that Monstro was really going to eat us!)

Adventure Through Inner Space (Once I realized you didn't stay shrunk forever I was fine).

Indiana Jones Adventure.

I had my eyes closed tightly
throughout the enitre ride.

I was just terrified.

By the time I got out of
the exit queue, I grabbed
mother by her hand and pleaded
with her to go on it again.

I wouldn't open my eyes on Indy for the first 8 or 9 times I rode. The thing that finally made me open my eyes was the mirror wall that gives you a glimpse of the transport ahead of you going through the Chamber of Destiny. I saw the transport go through the door and thought, "that doesn't looks so bad." Then began a romance that has remained since.

The Matterhorn had me pretty creeped out for a while. I knew Harold was fake, but he still scared me. I still won't do MaliBOOMer, but that's for entirely different reasons - I know that strong upward acceleration (e.g. at the bottom of the drop) tends to make my stomach hurt.

I was absolutely terrified of the Haunted Mansion. I hid my face and plugged my ears the entire time I was on the ride. I don't remember being scared of anything else, though. I was somewhat of a daredevil when I was a child.

Mister Toad's Wild Ride -- especially the Train and the part where you go to Hell.

Re: Rides and attractions you were freaked out by as a kid?

I swear I was freaked out by nearly all of them. I'm not exaggerating on the next parts. I was a disturbed child and obviously became very scared at the smallest things

Splash Mountain: The final drop.
Space Mountain: I would fly off the track and out through the building
BTMRR: The incident in 2003 terrified me.
Matterhorn Bobsleds: Pretty much the same as Space Mountain...
Indiana Jones Adventure: I have always been terrified of skeletons and generally fast/bumpy rides.
The Haunted Mansion: Ghosts. I was also afraid I'd have nightmares.
Snow White's Scary Adventures: ^
Pinocchio's Daring Journey: ^
HISTA: The snake scared me and I actually did have nightmares that night
Star Tours: I was afraid I'd barf. Hah!
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride: Still never been on it, but I used to think that I would catch on fire, because my friends always mentioned the ride having to do with fire...
Storybook Land Canal Boats: I believed the huuuge Monstro whale contained a scene of something similar to the Apocalypse.
PoTC: I had a completely irrational fear of pirates, completely irrational.

So there's my unnecessary list of rides and fears. If I may add, I was also afraid of ToT because of the drop. I was afraid of California Screamin' because I thought when I'd go upside-down, the cars would fall off the track and into the water and then I'd drown...

Re: Rides and attractions you were freaked out by as a kid?

The Rocket Jets freaked me out when I was just a kid. Man those things were high! The height coupled with the bouncy up and down movement as you changed altitude made it seem like you'd be lucky to survive.

The first time I rode it with my dad I was so freaked by the height that I just leaned forward to get my head down inside the rocket and kept the stick pushed all the way forward so we'd stay as low as possible.

That was almost 40 years ago, I think I'm over it now.

I wish they were still up there though!

All of these are from WDW, but basically apply to DL.

The Haunted Mansion - Closed my eyes and tried cover my ears. The ride is actually much more frightening this way. Go figure.
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride - Everything about this ride scared me. It still gets into my dreams.
Snow White's Scary Adventures - This was before they changed it and added Snow White. It was absolutely and totally terrifying.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad - The part with the eyes and bats.
Space Mountain - Generally, anything where you are "launched" into space scares me.
