    The Spirit of Frontierland

I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that Frontierland is one of my very favorite lands in Disneyland. There is a certain good feeling I get when I'm in and around that land. I really love the chance I get to be a part of the exciting ol' west.

Well, I came across this painting that really brought that feeling to me also...I think it really captures the feeling of the west and Fronteirland.

It is called The Source of Country Music and is by Thomas Hart Benton. The paining was made in the surprisingly recent year of 1975, the year that the artist died.

Are those some Billy Hill Hillbillies playing their guitars? Is that 'wedding cake' of a boat, the one and only Mark Twain, with the settlers of the Settler's Cabin coming out to greet it? And are there some hints of New Orleans Square as the train chugs along its track and that white building up on the hill looks like it almost might be...haunted?

Frontierland is probably the best-themed land in Disneyland (especially prior to Pirates lair). Nearly everything in that area reinforces the idea of the Frontier and the West.

Cool Re: The Spirit of Frontierland

Frontierland is great, just a lack of rides. As for the pic, It sure seems like it's related, but I doubt it.

I actually saw it on the wall at my school.

I wasn't suggesting that it had anything to do with Frontierland...just that it brought the feeling and spirit of Frontierland to me.

Big Thunder Trail is one of my favorite spots in the park - especially at night. Frontierland has a great amount of charm and nostalgia, it's definitely one of my favorite "lands" in the park.

Frontierland and Adventureland are next-door neighbors, even New Orleans Square. Frontierland gives a homey and relaxing feeling and I like it.

I always hang out at those three lands.

Tomorrowland gives me the heeble-jeebles, I don't' why.

I always head to Frontierland first. Just love the feel of it. I enjoy stopping and listening to Farley play the fiddle out front of the store. If Laughing Stock is out, it is fun to watch them. And of course that's where The Golden Horseshoe is, home of the Billies.

I gravitate towards Frontierland and NOS the most. I guess I just feel the most comfortable in those lands, they really are homey!
