I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that Frontierland is one of my very favorite lands in Disneyland. There is a certain good feeling I get when I'm in and around that land. I really love the chance I get to be a part of the exciting ol' west.
Well, I came across this painting that really brought that feeling to me also...I think it really captures the feeling of the west and Fronteirland.
It is called The Source of Country Music and is by Thomas Hart Benton. The paining was made in the surprisingly recent year of 1975, the year that the artist died.
Are those some Billy Hill Hillbillies playing their guitars? Is that 'wedding cake' of a boat, the one and only Mark Twain, with the settlers of the Settler's Cabin coming out to greet it? And are there some hints of New Orleans Square as the train chugs along its track and that white building up on the hill looks like it almost might be...haunted?
