My first trip report

I have a lot of pictures from my first trip report. I had the unique and weird experience of going to the park for the first time in my life by myself. I have always gone to Disneyland with my brother and so walking under the train bridge for the first time by myself was a bit of a weird experience… Enough of that on to my trip report for 5.2.09.

I apologize in advance if something is to big, blurry or what have you, Im still figuring all of this out

I decided to head to the park on Saturday for 2 reasons:
1. There was a bad rumor that it was going to rain and the last time I was in the park and it rained, it was my birthday and very enjoyable.
2. I was thinking the crowds might be smaller due to the rumors of rain

I was right about count #2, but the rain never showed.

After making my way in the park I was reminded of three things:

After a brief stop for my honorary citizenry it was off to Adventure Land and a cruise through the jungle,

I was on a boat but I was the only one, aside from the CM

I was allowed to make a photo safari of it and the CM was very accommodating

Unfortunately my photo safari was a blurry misadventure. After cruising through the jungle and seeing the 9th wonder of the world-the side of water, it was time for Indian Jones. Unlike my single safari through the jungle, I actually had people with me on the ride, a grand total of 6. For those of you who don’t know-
Spoiler
Indy Survives
-so did I.

Now it was time for a trip with some pirates.

After my swashbuckling adventure on the lonely seas-the three boats in front of me were empty and my boat only contained me, it was time to visit with my Ghost Host.

Before reaching the mansion I spotted the following sad, sad image:

Now its time for a visit to the mansion.

On to the railroad…

So far so good, I’ve waited about 10 total minutes to get on a ride, and enjoyed this ride so much, I went back on it. After conquering this section of the park it was off to the Matterhorn and hopefully Space Mountain before 10am

Unfortunately for me, only the Matterhorn would be a part of my plans as the wait for Space Mountain was already 45 minutes. Good Thing Fast Pass is available, but the weird thing was that there was line for fast pass and that lasted 10 minutes. Oh well, I needed to make my way to California Adventure to ride a select few rides. First up was California Screamin, Then Toy Story Midway and finally the Tower of Terror

I had a good fast pass time so it was back to the park for some Space Mountain

Now it was time for the Grand Circle Tour

Is that Rain I see in the distance?

No!

On the trip I was provided another reminder:

After making the trip twice(I would make the Trip 3 more times during the day), I was back in New Orleans and decided to visit the old haunt again

Now it was time for a Boat Ride, a Big Boat Ride

Fake Moose-Real Duck

After this, another trip on The Thunder Mountain Railroad before making my way to one of my favorite spots in the Park

My day would continue like this, randomly making my way through rides until I met up with Belle Zen Whistles just in time to catch Fire Works

After the fireworks show we would make our way around the park to Ride the Jungle Cruise

and we would then venture to Finding Nemo, which I would call a submarine ride to disappointment

I hope I never see the “Fudge” hand sign

My view from inside the ride

While waiting in line, we were behind a woman who wore the most interesting pair of boot I have ever observed. In addition she was armed with two swords-Disneyland is getting rough these days.

While waiting in line she complimented me on my mustache, to which I thanked her and them something weird happened-She asked me if she could have it, Naturally I said No and she seemed disappointed.

All in all it was a great trip and I really enjoyed my first visit to the park all by myself. Yay for being an adult.

The saddest flower in the Park

A few other shots from my trip

Finally a picture of the Billy Goat…

These are fantastic shots! Not bad for your first TR! Not bad at all.

Nice work! I liked the Matterhorn shots best.

Re: My first trip report

I love it! Wasn't it terribly lonely going there by yourself though? I would be bored after awhile, but good for you! Experiencing it on your own!

Yay! First trip report! You got some great pictures; I love the one with the Columbia's flag waving in front of Space Mountain, and the castle in front of the Matterhorn, the pretty pink flowers, and is that FOG in front of Big Thunder?! It really does look like it should have rained that day!

And I'm glad someone else appreciates the reminder from Bounty on how handwashing works! It makes me laugh every time I'm at their sinks.

Re: My first trip report

Neat pictures! I always enjoy seeing unique angles and perspectives of the Park, and you've captured quite a few -- great job! Hmm, the sword lady sounds, uh, interesting. But anyway, glad you had a fun time solo. I've gone several times by myself and it's actually really nice in a lot of ways. And yeah what is with the hand-washing instructions? LOL Great first trip report!

Re: My first trip report

Awesome photos. It could have been better if you included a photo of yourself.

Your first trip was indeed a success.

Re: My first trip report

Aww, that was my mom's birthday! And because it was a saturday and she already has a deluxe pass (but was blocked out), we were just afraid of the crowds so I didn't take her.

Now I regret that decision.

Thanks for the pics!

Really?? I thought it was fog! What a great shot! Wonderful pictures!

And the view from inside Nemo.... yeah, when I was a teenage girl that was one of my fav views... but back then I think their pants were tighter...

Going alone is fun sometimes. You can take your time, see what you want to see when you want to see it... for me Disneyland is one of the few places that either in a group or alone... its still great fun!

Now that you've done your first report and got the procedure down, I look forward to seeing more!

Re: My first trip report

Wow! Terrific first report and pictures.

I'd give my eye-teeth (which I don't seem to have much use for anyway) to be on the Jungle Cruise alone. Good for you.
