    Disneyland Magic Strikes Again

But moreover the wonderful experience of seeing the piano players on Main Street. About a month ago, I was at Disneyland. Near the end of my day, I watched the piano player (Johnny) at Coke Corner...I only saw him for an hour or so, but even with that short amount of time, it sparked something in me. When I got home, I was more interested in my piano (I own one) than ever before. With that one experience, I asked my parents to call up a repairman and have an estimate done on the repair work. (Yeah, it needs some) We did, and now it is the process of being tuned and repaired…just enough for adequate use…not show quality.

Ok, so now we’re getting this done…but I’m still not that ambitious to go get lessons (Sacrifice time and everything)

So last week, I go back to Disneyland, but this time I spend my entire 11 hour day with the piano player (s). I spent the first part of the day with Eric, and the second part with Alan. After talking, watching and listening to them all day, this has got me even more motivated, but still not up to the point of “Hey mom, sign me up!” But pretty darn close.

I decide to go back this past Saturday , and I do the exact same thing, spend my entire day with the piano players. So, when I get there I go straight for Eric, when I get there he recognizes me and we talk some and I watch and listen some. I’m even more infatuated as I was last time, I watch every movement of his hand with awe. After his shift end, I anxiously wait for Alan to show up. When he does, I get in my place and continue watching him. I can tell he recognizes me from last week, so I talk to him every one and a while. I watch him with just as much infatuation and awe as I did Eric, I just keep wishing I could play as good as that!

After this night is over, I’m very ready to start lessons. I want to be able to do what they do, and by god…I will. I don’t care how long it takes or how hard I have to work…I will do this.

So, as of right now, I’m waiting for my piano to get finished, and then…I believe I will get into piano lessons. My mom agreed she’d look into it!!! Yes!!!

I can’t wait to see Rod when he finally gets back. I’m sure seeing him will give me a million times more motivation.

Clap, Clap Clap. It's called a calling. Music, no matter what kind has that power. You have found what many people search for their entire life, someone to look up to, respect and give them a guiding light. Some people chose business tycoons, other sport stars while others choose those who receive no recognition. Good luck on your adventure as it can take you anywhere. And hopefully someday I will get to visit the park and sit on Main Street and listen as you bring joy to the people.

This is the real reason we all love Disney. No one was unimportant and everyone had a talent to share.

    Good Luck

You're never too old to learn to play a musical instrument. Pianos are a lot of fun to play, but you are right that it takes a bunch of practice to sound like those guys in the park.
Stick with it, you may even surprise yourself. At the very least, your typing speed will go up dramatically!

I agree with you murphy. I wish I could play piano. I has very charming sounds. That is why I like it the best. Sure you can play the same ole beat on drums and all, but with a piano, there is endless possibilities.
