Could Fantillusion come to Disneyland?

I really liked that parade and I think it would be nice to have it at Disneyland.

Re: Could Fantillusion come to Disneyland?

Just curious... Why would we want Fantillusion when we already have Fantasmic?

It was only an idea. Maybe once Fantasmic is gone it could work but even then they might be too similar.

I know it was. I wasn't taking anything away from that. I was just curious.

But Fantasmic is basically like the Peter Pan (attraction) of night-time shows. I have never seen the show not crowded. I don't think it will ever go away. lol

Re: Could Fantillusion come to Disneyland?

Fantillusion's floats are too wide for Disneyland's parade route.

And besides, at this point Disneyland Paris has essentially gutted the parade to its bare bone minimum resembling not even a shell of what it was in Tokyo and not worth it IMO.

Re: Could Fantillusion come to Disneyland?

I seriously doubt that Disneyland will ever get a nighttime light parade....since it would compete with DEP. Even WDW only has SpectroMagic...none of the other parks have anything like it at night.

Fantasmic! Will never ever die. Nothing can top this show, and honestly it would compete with Dep in DCA so I don't think it would happen.

Isn't that the point? Competing nightime offerings at both parks that force guest to spend time in one or the other, not race back and forth creating traffic nightmares.

Re: Could Fantillusion come to Disneyland?

^^How understated. Fantillusion was/is a really nice night parade that TDL created as their first replacement for MSEP. It took its ideas basically from Fantasmic, but of course this was a completely different format, and they added more Villians, Princesses, and took a somewhat different approach to the idea. The basic story was that Mickey creates magical light that makes an enchanted fairy garden bloom. The Villians try to steal the light and plunge the world into eternal darkness. Good wins (they never show how) and the finale is most of the Princesses and their Princes dancing atop glittering chandeliers (or something, I was never quite sure what they were) and around crystal castles. The interesting part was that there were three distinct sections, each with around 7 or 8 floats (the scale was massive), and each section would have its own dedicated show stop where different things would happen. The fairy garden transformed to shining white and a character cavacade appeared, the Villians had blacklight effects and most of them had largescale transformations (Jafar to snake, Maleficent to dragon, Evil Queen to Hag), and the Prinsesses all had turntables and mirror balls that would appear.

Here's a good overview:

It ended its run in Tokyo in 2001 and moved to Paris, where they dramatically scaled it down. I particularly miss the ballroom gowns for the Princess section, which were so large and full of lights that they needed metal supports underneath the skirts with attached wheels. I also miss Tink on rollerskates.
