    What's this model made of?

I'm not sure if anyone knows, but what material is used in the circled sections for the Buena Vista Street model below?

I was just wondering because I've been wanting to make a model of a ride idea that I have, and I wanted to use this or a similar material. Its definately not pieces of cardboard glued together, there aren't any seams. And it looks to smooth to be styrofoam. If anyoen knows what the trees are made of, it would be helpfull also.Thoughts anyone?

    Thanks.

I think that is sheet styrene. Thats what I use my model train layout buildings and they look similar to that before painting.

The trees look like the kind you can buy in mass at any craft store.

Looks to me to be renshape. Basically the part would be CNC'd, primered, surfaced, then shot with whatever paint they wanted....

Disney uses sheet/strip styrene, mostly from Plastruct, on all of their models. For organic pieces, or spun details, they'll use urethane foam from about 6# to 10#. That's the kind of stuff I use on my Nature's Wonderland model, like the rockwork:

These trees aren't just any "craft store trees". The ones you get at Michael's for example, aren't very detailed, they're made by Woodland scenics. The trees Disney is using there are from JTT & partners. These trees are made of wire and are very detailed, and they come ready to "plant" right out of the box. They're even cheaper in bulk orders than some of the other firms less detailed trees! These are probably the best there are in the market.
