There's mice at every restaurant, and not just at DIsneyland. And when you think about Disney, remember that their restaurants are often world renown for their cleanliness and attention to food quality. 'Least it used to be.
Read an article in the LA Times today that said a restaurant got a borderline C (ie almost d-closure) because they left cooked red beanson their counter overnight for making desserts the next day. EW. Think of all the foodborne illnesses all that room temperature food could cause. :\

When I was walking by the Tommorrowland entrance their was quite a few running back and forth amongst the Chili's in the planters by the "Moon" rocks. Wheneve birds showed up, those critters were gone!

If I went to a restaurant, and mice tried to climb my foot, that would be a big problem. Mice don't usually run around in public in the middle of the day, that's why the only way you can tell that they are around is by their droppings. But when they are RUNNING AROUND ON PEOPLE'S FEET? That's a big problem. That's a potential lawsuit... It's only a matter of time.Originally Posted by melmel

Sorry to say, the little guy that I caught today didn't make it...he's up in that big cheese round in the sky!

I believe the virus you are thinking of it the Hantavirus (HPS) which comes from inhaling mouse droppings. I had heard of it before and your post prompted me to look it up. According to the Washington State Department of Health, 353 cases were reported between 1993-2003 in the U.S. and it was fatal 38% of the time.Originally Posted by Mr D
A friend of mine had a terrible time with mice invading her house this summer, and according to the local news the mouse problem has been widespread around my area. I live in Dallas/Ft. Worth so I wonder if the mouse population is exploding all over the country.Originally Posted by Skippy

Disneyland has had Rat and mice issues for decades. When you have a Jungle and a Wilderness for them to breed in, then add 14 million people tossing food on the ground, what Rat wouldn't want to be there? DL fights it for sure, but it's next to impossible to rid them. No guest wants to see a poisoned rat crawl out and die on the pavement either. I've seen those rat motel traps in the backstage areas, so you know they are doing something. The Cockroaches are even worse, especially at WDW. I once saw a huge one prancing across on a stainless steel tub of potato salad in the liberty tree tavern. UGH.
