    Re: Splash Mountain Refurb

Funny thing is, I rode WDW's Splash Mountain this year a week after the annual refurb and half of the AAs weren't working. Mouths weren't moving, eyes weren't moving, arms, etc. Plus the jumping Brer Rabbit wasn't working either. For crying out loud Brer Fox's mouth didn't work on any of the four or five AAs of him scattered through the ride and Brer Rabbit's mouth wasn't moving in the finale. Pathetic. Then three weeks after that I was in Disneyland for the first time, and all but maybe one or two critters were working fine. I find it pretty sad that Disneyland's works better than WDWs when DL reused its AAs from America Sings, but I don't believe WDW does (though I could be wrong.)

Splash could use a little clean up, but there are many things in the park that need much more attention.

If how wet you get isn't determined by the water level in the flumes, but solely on the weight distribution and how many people are in the log, then why is it that I've been in a log with a few people, in the winter, and the water level was lower, and we didn't hardly get wet?

I think it's a combination of the two.

It definitely doesn't need a major refurb. Everything is generally in very good condition.

    Re: Splash Mountain Refurb

When we went in December, 2008, my mom wasnt sure she wanted to go on it becasue it was freezing at night. So we asked the CM working on the ride and his exact words were Splash Moutain stays the same 365 days a year and you might get wet because each log is random, we have no control. So weight I think is the only thing that makes a difference. The only thing I think they do control about the flow of the water is its speed, which most water rides can do.
