    Splash Mountain Refurb

Do you think that Splash Mountain needs to be refurbished? It is no secret that the robots are very old and were taken from AS because of budget problems and I think that it hurts the ride. When I first went to DL I thought it was released in the 70s because it looks so old. Do you think that Splash Mountain should get a whole new look?
If so please be specific as to why and what, and if not please be specific as to why.

Actually the AAs were used from America Sings because Disney recycled them so they didn't have to throw them out and have new ones built. It's what any business should do to reduce costs.

while that is certainly true, Splash Mountains construction cost DID go over the budget, and with AS fading popularity at the time, they reused them to reduce costs, rather then trash them or let them end up in John Stamo's hands.

^ As far as I know there were no budget problems with building this attraction. The only problem they did have when testing the ride was that it was "too wet" and actually had to open at a later date to tone it down.

Many other attractions use pieces from older attractions both as a tribute but also as a cost cutting measure. Even if you don't need to cut costs, as a business you always want to find ways to reduce costs. I know that even parts of BTMRR have set pieces from another attraction, Adventures Through Nature's Wonderland, I believe.

Splash, like it or not, is the main draw of Critter Country. I really don't see Disney completely retheming it unless something else is installed in Critter Country first. Even then I doubt it would be completely changed. It's extremely popular and successful. I would think they would refresh it more then anything else.

Refurbishment is needed when a ride's show elements or other factors start to break down. We were at DL a year ago, and everything seemed to work fine in the ride. Has it gone downhill since then?

The last time I was there people were speeding downhill screaming in terror while a picture was taken of them shortly before they were drenched with water... but it could have changed since then!
