You really felt like posting two threads about this? Even after several others were merged into the first one?

    ...

    All right. Works for me.

Sorry, but it has happened many times since 1994.

Umm... I'm sorry, but that is incorrect. Well, let me clarify. Yes, the rides shut down due to the earthquake. But, no- the last time this happened was not in 1994. It's after every earthquake strong enough to set off the sensors that are on each ride, that triggers an automatic emergency stop. It happened last summer after a quake rolled through the area. I'm sure it has happened many other times than that, too.

I stand corrected, the local news never know the truth I guess they just overreact

Yeah, just like they were hugely mistaken on Mothers Day when in their morning newscast they said that all mothers were free that day, just as if it was your birthday.

I was there! Okay, I wasn't, but my voice was. My sister is there tonight and was sitting in the hub waiting for the fireworks and was talking to me on the phone. All of a sudden she started exclaiming "I think we're having an earthquake!". I asked her if the castle was moving and she said no and that only the ground seemed to be moving. I could hear people talking in very excited voices in the background. She got off the phone pretty quickly after that. I wonder if they went ahead with the fireworks.

I've been watching KTLA since the news started at 10pm, and they said no such thing about the Northridge quake being the last time Disneyland shut down rides.

Nor would they -- everyone in So Cal knows that 5.0 (much less 4.7) is rated as "Moderate."

In point of fact, the KTLA anchors did not "overreact."

In point of fact, they never made the statement that you claim they did.

In point of fact, people in Southern California died in the Northridge earthquake. People in Southern California are nervous about earthquakes large and small.

And people in Southern California who read MiceChat do not need a forum troll like yourself unconscionably exaggerating an already-scary event to draw attention to himself -- yet again -- with yet another bogus thread.

The fireworks went off on time, as usual.

    Re: Disneyland shuts down rides

As I stated in the other thread, I'm on the extreme NW tip of Ventura County, along the coast just south of Carpinteria - didn't feel a thing here.

Seems like this one was felt most from Hawthorne to the southeast.
