Mark Twain Entertainment for the Holidays

I was speaking with my favorite cast member EVER last night and he let me in on a little info. Usually I take rumors with a grain of salt, and even this one, but this is the CM who told me about the new crocodile for Fantasmic! before any of sites picked up on it.

ANYWAY, he told me that for the holiday season, the Mark Twain is going to occasionally park in front of New Orleans Square (think Fantasmic! viewing area) and have some sort of performance. He wasn't quite sure if it was going to be a show or a singer or something, but that the MT would make a round and resume normal operation. He also said he wasn't sure if it was for the summer promotion or the holidays, but he guessed it wouldn't be for summer since they should already be trained for it by now.

Well, that's my little tidbit of info, I know it's vague but it's something. :P

That's what first came to mind, but then he said 'holidays' so maybe there's hope.

Yes Princess and the Frog does come out this Holiday season. I wouldn't think of it as a pre show to Fantasmic as much as a daytime show.

This isn't anything new, Disneyland used to use the Mark Twain some time ago for shows.

Great. So thanks to Fantasmic! we can't ride the Mark Twain at night. So then if this happens we won't be able to ride it during the day either. This is really sad.

Can't be a pre-parade for Fantasmic! as the Mark Twain needs to be prepped and in position well before the show starts. Besides, you can't bring it out twice. Once for the pre-show then AGAIN for the finale of Fantasmic! It just wouldn't feel right. Maybe Disney doesn't plan to run Fantasmic during the holidays. An use the Mark Twain for this instead.
Wait, lets not get ahead of ourselves...... haha

Re: Mark Twain Entertainment for the Holidays

I just wish I was around for those Jazz Nights during the Summer on the Mark Twain. I can't imagine being on that boat with Louis Armstrong, Kid Ory and Johnny St. Cyr playing tunes from the Hot V or Hot VII. Mind you, Louis wasn't around every weekend, but as I recall, there was a week or two during the Summer where you would hear some authentic New Orleans Jazz performed live on the Mark Twain. I think the footage is on "Disney After Dark."

a few years ago, they had a battle of the bands, a Jazz Band on the Shore and a band on the Mark Twain, and the "mayor of New Orleans Square", too.
