Let me start off by saying that I'm a HUGE shutterbug. I love to photograph nearly everything I see, especially those tiny details that other people might miss. The thing is, some of those tiny details are quite strange. I've been curious about these things for a while now, and since this site seems to be overflowing with Disneyologists, I hoped maybe some of you could shed some light on these mysteries.
Mystery 1 - Stone Artichokes
Okay, fine, they're probably made out of wood/fiberglass. BUT, that doesn't make them any less mysterious!
My first encounter with the "artichokitechture" started with Pirates.
I thought they were interesting, took a quick picture, and then went on my merry way without giving the veggies a second thought. That is, until I got in line for Toad...
"Huh, why does that look familiar?" I thought to myself. I then scrolled through my pictures, and then found my picture of the artichokes on the bridge. They were different sizes and shapes, yes, but still artichokes. But that's not all! The next day, in the Penny Arcade...
Again?? What's the deal here? As far as I know, artichokes aren't commonly used decorations...are they? And why do they appear in three different places in the park, even upside-down at one point?
Mystery 2 - Popcorn Cart of Doom
I saw this while driving around Autopia. Why is there? What is it for?? How did it get there???
Why is it the Popcorn Cart of Doom, you ask? Because it's...OUT OF THEME!!!
*Various MiceChatters scream in horror*
Mystery 3 - The Elephant Conspiracy
The Penny arcade is decked out with all sorts of patriotic decorations. There's red, white, and blue everywhere, and even a game involving Uncle Sam. So, what's with the elephants? Perhaps it's a subtle reference to Walt's political views? Or maybe I'm just looking into things way too deeply?
Oh, and before you ask, there aren't any donkeys.
Stranger still, all the eagles are located way over on the side of the street.
Oh, and don't forget the big elephant in the Ice Cream Parlor!
(For the record, I know none of the people located at the bottom of this picture.)
All right everyone! I'm looking forward to your enlightening explainations!
