To the best of my knowledge, there is no Santa Barbara reference in DCA, and Santa Barbara's a major tourist destination known the world over.

And to the best of my knowledge, Pt. Mugu is the only Ventura County area referenced - with a tattoo shop.

Call me naive but I was under the impression the agriculture of Bountiful Farms and the Winery reflected the contributions of Central California...

And how much is it at Hertz rent-a-castle? I'd like a quote for a nice 5 tower no moat for 2 knights.

There is a tree on the Redwood Creek Challenge trail called "Big Sir." Yes, that's how Disney spelled it.

I lived in Morro Bay for two years, and think the best way to represent the Central Coast would be to build an indoor ride, and fill the building with fog so you can't see anything.

    Central Coast. COAST.

As one whose parents live in Cambria, I can attest that the Central Coast definitely has some wonderful things to offer--BBQ among the best.

And Wiggins--You're right about the pun. Only one who has penned so many aweful ones such as yourself could appreciate the dreadfulness of mine.

COAST as in how they drive because they can't see anything in that fog!

Cambria, as you doubtless know, was a former whaling station. And please be advised that I've sworn a vow against pun-penning. As fishy as it may sound, I've learned my lesson: spouting such bits of ill-conceived humor will only get me harpooned by pun police such as yourself.

That works for me. I bet it is delicious.

I just could not think of an attraction they could have based on my hometown.

Hey I live in Lompoc! What about something with the missions? Or space stuff?
I'm literally a born Disney fan! I was born at Providence St. Joseph Med Center right across the street from Disney Studios in Burbank. The same hospital where Walt died.

Maybe Central California should just pick a side to make it easier on everyone.

Actually, you can rent out Hearst Castle for private events! It's $7,500 for a 3-hour event with fewer than 50 people, and more for larger events...

Off Topic. I can't remember the name of the piece but I remember a bit about it. There is a statue that for many many years was thought to be lost. It was purchased at auction, never to be seen again. The art world assumed that it was either in private hands, or was lost in WW2. But no one knew where it was. Hearst Castle always assumed they had a replica of this statue. It wasn't until it was moved that someone noticed the label taped underneath the base. It was a bill of sale. The statue had been found. Hearst had bought it using an alias because at the time he was banned from purchasing art at auction (he had bought too much). All these years it had sat in plain view of everyone and no one realized it was real!

Sorry... I always think of that when I read about Hearst Castle... that and why salt water is bad for a pool... but that's another story.
