Amidst the annual Gumball Rally, I find it appropriate to mention another scramble of sorts. Ninety-three days from today (6/2/2009) we will again be given the opportunity to run without being told to slow down, through DCA, the DLR and surrounding areas. Originally designated as a day off for the working citizens of United States, this Labor Day is a chance to stretch your legs and see the park in a different way. Whether you do it for the quick glimpse of backstage areas, the opportunity to high-five middle school band members at mile ten, or for your love of perspiration, all that matters is that you’re there.
There, is Disneyland on Labor Day Weekend. The event is a fun-filled 13.1 mile race testing physical limits while at the same time providing a great atmosphere; engineered for personal record potential. I missed the maiden voyage in 2006 as I was still in college, but was in attendance in 07 and 08 and had a ball.
Check out the below URL and get yourself signed up for the race! 80-percent capacity right now means that spaces are filling up quickly. Don’t forget that if you are a runner of speeds faster than a 2:45 half, proof of time is required for your corral position.
