Dance hall, I'm not so sure about. But, the Haunted Mansion site used to have a chicken plantation restaurant.

Re: My head hurts!

^^ It's where HM was built. They tore down the chicken plantation restaurant and built HM in its spot.

According to this, the restaurant opened with the park in 1955 and was closed in 1962, when it was then was torn down to make way for New Orleans Square. From the looks of these photos, the way it sits directly across from ROA... maybe Pirates?

I am in agreement. I looks like NOS location - therefore Pirates.

The Frontierland Train Station is just west of the Plantation House. The current NOS/Frontierland Station is located 50 feet back from the original, and HM is to the west of that. So HM would be too far west to be where the old Plantation House sat.

Re: My head hurts!

I have another question in relation to the chicken plantation, in Disney tradition, is there any type of nod to the plantation in any of the rides or shops there?

Re: My head hurts!

Check out the Blue Bayou; it is an almost identical re-creation of the Chicken Plantation, which was a restaurant with Fried Chicken, but not a dance-hall. Sounds like someone got their wires crossed with the Golden Horseshoe.

You can see more photos of the Chicken Plantation on my site:
