new dragon broke before the first show. (merged threads)

I found out it could be 2 to 3 weeks at the least until we see the dragon, and a month to a month and a half at the longest.

They KNOW what the problem is, they just can't figure out how to go about fixing it so that it's trustworthy enough.

It's neck never broke, nor did it's head fall off. Also, no explosions happened with it either.

They are probably hoping that they can have it ready by 4th of July weekend, I would guess.

The dragon is most difenaly IN MANY PIECES. There will be no dragon in the show for some time. But the show will open with out it.

Dang. Maybe I'll be back in August to see it. But at least now it will have Flotsam, Jetsam, Tick-Tock, and HD projections. I haven't even seen the show with HD projectors, I can hardly understand what it will be like with remastered video.

Mabye it's more of a programming error, which would require weeks to reprogram the dragon.

Broken, programming error, either one of these reasons can cause this dragon to be down for weeks due to this being more advanced than Bucky was.

They definitely have to open on schedule, but how are they going to do it without the dragon? Do you think they'll use the old mechanism? Or put in a spare projection? I'm wondering because it's such an integral part of the show, how would they get around that??

Theres an improv, where Maleficent remains risen up and casts the rivers on fire with her staff. Basically the idea is that she transformed into her dragon form to show how powerful she was before returning to normal form.

So she'll just remain in her human form throughout the long scene? I was just wondering what the filler would be from the time that she isn't in her human form.

According to the official Disney press release for Fantasmic!, the dragon's initial absence is being "written in" as part of the plot:

Making its debut later this summer will be a fully animated, three-dimensional dragon who breathes fire across the Rivers of America. The 40-foot-tall dragon will dazzle guests like never before as the creature steps out of the shadows that concealed it in past “Fantasmic!” performances.
