There is also a video similar to the one I posted before form Disney which featured the dragon...

Here is a new one only it features Flotsam and Jetsam instead:

^I don't know if the link provided in the post above has this video (I didn't see it) But if it does, I apologize.

I love how they are talking up the Dreamlights soundtrack like it hasn't been in Tokyo for the past eight years...

I love the video! I'm glad I finally get to see video of F&J. And I enjoyed seeing Tink and the Mine unit too. But I didn't see Pinocchio though... I guess we'll see tonight right here soon right?! They are doing a soft opening of DEP tonight aren't they?

EDIT: In the short part where they showed the mine train I could see the Fun Face in the back! Yay!

the dragon scene at 0:44 in that video.. it's just Mickey standing there with the river on fire. the dragon really is in Mickey's imagination.

Smart move by Disney there, saying that the dragon would debut later this summer. Even though it was sort of last minute, it should reduce the number of complaints about the dragon.

I have quite a bit of experience repairing dragons, both real and mechanical. I would guess that people are attempting to repair it at least every weekday, and when it is fixed it will perform, whether this be tomorrow or in June of 2010.

Dragons, like flashy monorails, ain't so common that their ailments be predictable, but if ye insist, here you go: the dragon shall make it's formal debut on July 9, my birthday.

The dragon under the castle at Disnyland Paris is impressive and has been around for well over a decade, maybe that that Dragon maker or Hagrid could help out,

I saw the show one time in this mode. To my recollection the queen went up on her pylon, waving and screaming, and at the point where she should transition into the dragon, she just kept on screaming and waving her wand. It was really weird, and a low point in the show. I've always thought of F! as the perfect show, with every element timed perfectly. Take any element out, or take an element like the queen on the pylon and stretch it out to twice as long, and you have a problem.

I can't wait to see the new Flotsam & Jetsam, as that part of the show hasn't worked for me since the Ursula float broke - same problem as above.

A BOLDER "FANTASMIC!": Guests will enjoy new thrills at the popular "Fantasmic!" spectacular on the Rivers of America in Frontierland. Special effects in this new version of "Fantasmic!" create a spine-tingling adventure with Mickey the Sorcerer and famous Disney villains. Ursula the Sea Witch from "The Little Mermaid" introduces her pet eels, Flotsam and Jetsam, who slither into the show with surprising speed. Favorite Disney characters practically leap off the giant mist screens, thanks to cutting-edge video projection technology. And later this summer, the evil Maleficent from "Sleeping Beauty" will transform into the fully animated, 40-foot-tall dragon.

Summer Nightastic comes out today, and I just found out about the broken Dragon. Disney should do more to advertise this, because I'm sure people will go today, not knowing about the broken dragon, and there'll be a line of people complaining.

It's damage control. Likely Disney has a specific projection date of when the dragon will be fixed, but for obvious reasons they can't publicly release it. Once they realized the dragon was broken and in need of substantial repairs they quickly started making adjustments. To give credit where credit is due, they are a whiz at marketing! Had the dragon not broken then everything was in place for the type of hyped media blitz we have come to expect from Disney. My only complaint, which I voiced earlier, is that they put all their eggs in one basket. Hopefully this will be a lesson... always leave options in case plan A is a bust.

Re: new dragon broke before the first show. (merged threads)

Well, I've got some details on what went wrong with the Dragon, and I can honestly say, when I heard what happened, my face was just about as white as the tech's working on it where! I can't remember every single detail, but you'll get the jist of it.

Problems came when the motors for the lift mechanism for the dragon weren't quite synchronized (the lift platform has four motors, which lift the platform on a chain drive) the motors caused violent vibrations because of the binding occuring. At the same time, the dragon with it's limited movement clipped one of it's hydraulic lines and fluid began to leak. That is not good. The dragon slowly began to droop and sink back into the pit which is very dangerous considering this thing weighs about 8-10 thousand pounds. The really dangerous thing is that the safety system and the system that runs the dragon where built onto the same system which is a big no no! They are suppose to be separate systems, but since Disney went to a cheaper bidder to build it (not WDI, whom should have built it) it was designed incorrectly compromising safety. As the leaking and the drooping continues, the tech guys are down in the now extremely dangerous pit frantically trying to slow it down. In about 5 minutes, that dragon is coming down! Then suddenly, the neck (alright, here's where the rumor started) collapses like a telescope and the heavy head comes down (not off!) along with it and with a loud bang and crash, the dragon is a mess of pieces and broken fiberglass.

July 4th is probably the absolute earliest they can get it up and running, but there's no guarantee for that. But I have my hat off for the maintenance and tech guys for this difficult problem they were given. The park is really PO'd about it that they're taking legal action against the company.
