Everyone knows about Club 33, but only a few know about the club next door.
I know just noting the mistake

i hope its ready soon!
If Disneyland went back to being closed 2 days out of the week this could be done a lot sooner than 2 weeks.

Re: new dragon broke before the first show.

I will definitely wait until everything is working correctly before I see the show. I want it all at once, thank you.. Sad this happened, hope they get it fixed soon and CORRECTLY.

Feel bad for the folks who spent $60 on premium viewing.

Re: new dragon broke before the first show.

Cant they just close the Island during the next week and work on the Dragon??? That seems like the solution to me.

Well Al has confirmed the broken neck in his editor note for the day. he did not get into how bad just saying chances of it getting fixed soon are not good.

Re: new dragon broke before the first show.

One more thing. I am not a Fantasmic! fan, but every day I see the Summer Nightastic billboard with the dragon on it, advertising that Summer Nightastic begins on June 12.

I find this situation frustrating and embarassing for Disney because the non-AP, infrequent park-goer may see this and want to go to DL to experience this dragon and if it isn't there this may cause even bigger problems than the die-hard fan who sees the show all the time.

Something like this happening can influence these people to go to Knotts or USH instead of going back to Disneyland.

This is a big deal, much bigger than the show itself.

I'm pretty sure this was outsourced. And honestly, if there's any reaction from imagineering, it would be to point out to keep work inside imagineering rather than cowtowing to cost-cutting mandates and send the work elsewhere.

Or however you spell cowtowing. I'm not even sure it's one word.

But I will say this, the weakest summer promotion in a decade just got a whole lot weaker. On the upside, maybe the park won't be so crowded this summer. That would be nice.

I highly doubt that the dragon alone is the basis for an entire family's summer vacation to Disney.

Re: new dragon broke before the first show.

not to belabor the point: but the summer promotion has always focused on drawing So Cal residents to the park to experience new adventures.

Merely out of curiosity, even if they did close the island, how would they hide a 40 foot dragon from plain view? I mean I know that it doesn't have to be at its highest height, I'm just asking.

From what I've heard, Bucky has officially retired. I can't really say much more than that.

I think he's just trying to play it safe since many people are going to be there to see the debuts and shows, it's going to be pretty crowded that day.

Re: new dragon broke before the first show.

And this would be the problem with building your entire summer marketing campaign around a complex new effect that hasn't been completed and tested yet.

I was looking forward to seeing the new dragon; I hope she's up and running by July 4th weekend.
