Re: Celebrate! A Street Party: Revisited

I still haven't seen it (I'm never with people who want to stop and watch it, or lately I've been there in the mornings only).
I'd like to see it and form an opinion.
But I will say that most of the pictures I've seen so far have focused on the performers and the people, and it looked pretty entertaining. Then I saw a TR with tons of pictures of CASP, and they were pulled back much further showing large sections and the entirety of the floats. I was near aghast at how unattractive they were! I'm not so convinced I'll enjoy it now after seeing the floats.

I've seen it a couple times and I don't care for it much, It seems too random, BPB had segmets to go with the different things on the floats but in CASP the music just changes for no real reason. I also think the streets of Disneyland are a bit small to hold a street party there are so many people standing so close to it that it's hard to enjoy it as a whole, since DCA has a wide parade route BPB look nicer overall. It is still weird to see Mary Poppins sing I Love Rock n Roll.

You can mark me down as a major CASP fan. It's one of the few entertainment offerings that can literally get my heart pumping in anticipation in that few seconds of silence before the audio kicks in, it truly makes it possible for me to forget all of my problems and negative feelings outside the gates while I'm dancing on Main Street with Mickey and Minnie, and when it's all over, I'm left super pumped and ready to enjoy the rest of my day at the most awesomest place in the world.

I've posted it before, but I guess it'll fit fine here. I created a multi-angle tribute video to this show back when it debuted, and it still makes me all giddy inside whenever I watch it. I was so happy with how it came out because I got my favorite MC doing the singing, lots of interaction (including miss purple dancer doing some camerawork), and the audio came out amazing. Plus, who doesn't love to see dancing micechatters? Check it out!

It's not a parade. Not to be all fussy about this, but it really isn't.

It moves for about... 2 minutes (if that) total throughout the whole thing (to get to the next location), and stops for 15 minutes. Parades are usually continuously moving, sometimes with a short little show stop (ie. Parade of Dreams).

Celebrate! is a ton of fun. Today I hit the 43rd viewing of it. I honestly watch the dancers more than the characters just because their facial expressions and movements are so intriguing, you can tell they're definitely having so much fun. The conga part is my favorite portion of the entire thing. I will admit, I really don't care for the "I Love Rock N Roll" part and I feel it doesn't really work for the celebrate aspect of CASP!

Other than that, I love it. I can understand people's concerns on a couple of things, but I take the fun view over the "This doesn't fit well" view just because I'm a fun loving person .

Not to push you out in the spot light but I think this is definitely an example where Celebrate doesn't work for the various guests. You'll love it, enjoy it, if you have the time to experience it.

And while I enjoy a good performance, it's an overall production that isn't up to snuff with what Disney is able to create. When I'm at Disneyland, it shouldn't be the dancers that are the best thing about a show. It shouldn't be any one thing at all. The entire production should be a greater sum of its parts.

That's where Celebrate! fails for me. It's just not Disney enough and I see mostly the same characters all the time anyway.

i like it its not the best parade ever, but its fun. sure it isnt classic and traditional but a little change never hurt anyone.
that being said, i hope they have a new parade next year. i would love to see the parades they used to have come back.

and they lived happily ever after
