Hey everyone im currently in disneyland and fantasmic has caused a stir. extreme crowds crowds doing the wave its awsome. pa system alerted crowds that fantasmic was FULL.but there was no stopping the crowds. also dumbo did not make an apprence according to several sources is that there was technical difficulties. dltoday tweet has been calling it fail..... also disney electrical parade delayed 20 minutes and rare sight seeing electrical parade and fireworks at the same time. the show looks awsome but im staying out of the crowds and will not be filiming hopefully someone will. i will be here till 12. crowds are cheering and big start to summer nightastic. ill be chating all night

Imagine the cost of doign three shows and the timing Disney would need to run the show.

Its roughly a 20 minute show which requires a good amount of time to set up and restart the program. You can't just run it back to back, and Disney won't overlap the show over Magical or ELP to make it work...

Disney use to run the show 3 times night regularly during its first few summers. Sometimes even 4 times.

They could have a 3rd showing at like 11:30 and it would be over just as the park would be closing.

Umm... they do run the show three times, when it's exceptionally busy. There's one more after the 10:30 show, at 11:30, I believe (when they do it, anyways).

EDIT: Dang it! DL2006 beat me to it!

I alwayd expected that DIsney would do Fantasmic at 8:30, 10, and 11:30 on busy nights

Actually, last minute third show additions have happened many times in the past- especially during the heavy summer and holiday seasons. They'd just add a late night show at 11pm or 1130 to give everyone involved a little break, and for those who stuc around for the latest show, it's ALWAYS the least crowded of the three. Usually that decision isn't made until the day of the potential add on and certainly wouldn't show up on the DL website.

My hand and wrist hurt so bad from trying to deal with jerks in the crowds. It was a nightmare and way too crowded. There was a second show but instead I parked in Fantasyland near Dumbo and saw the fireworks.

Tink is on a pulley, need I say anything more. OBVIOUS.
Did not see Dumbo except the ones to my left and the one behind me.

I loved the fireworks but boy did they start lining up to get back into Fantasyland from Dumbo and Pinocchio and Mr. Toad. Already a line was formed for Toad.

Wait, they still closed down most of Fantasyland? I thought the point of these fireworks would be that they wouldn't have to close down the attractions?

Yeah I saw Eletrical Parade and was hoping to get back to DL just in time for fireworks, but eletrical parade was delayed, but it's okay, I'll wait all night for a classic parade. I then went over and checked out the tomorrowland dance club. It was a big upgrade from the normal band shows they have. It's a blast, thats a must see next time u go, and Suburban Legends rocked the joint!!

When you say Tink is on a pulley, do you mean her flight is diffrent then in remember?

Thus the reason why some are not happy about the show. It sacrifices a lot with no improvement in attraction availability or crowd control.

I was there tonight, too. They made another 'capacity limit' announcement for the second show.

Tink's flight system isn't a pulley, haha. Yes she's attached to wires, but there isn't techs in Frontierland and the Matterhorn pulling her.

The bottom line is if there is going to be pyro launched on top of a rides roof, the ride is shut down, no exceptions. If the building catches fire and starts burning inside, guests will be trapped in their ride vehicles with no where to go until they get manually evacuated, which could take time in a situation where every second matters.
If they want to re-open Fantasyland, they would have to sacrafice all low-end castle pyro. This would greatly reduce the shows pyro (whether it be Magical or RDCT). The only way they'd get rid of such pyro would be because of complaints of Fantasyland closing for an hour which they don't get much of.
If they didn't plan on scratching these launch locations for the new Magical show, then I wouldn't plan on such locations leaving for a looooong time.
