The Peoplemover Thread!!!(Merged Threads)

ok, yes this is another peoplemover thread, but it is new and fancy! so i was thinking what if we brought the Peoplemover back, with the carts modeled after the Incredipods, giving a tour of the new "City of the Future"(AKA Tomorrowland). While inside the pods various facts, trivia, and news from tomorrowland of course, will scroll along the top or appear in boxes. as we enter star tours 2.0 we will hear about the flights to whereever it is the new one takes us to, enetering space mountain, we hear about the races of the future where you enter rockets and race around the cosmos, moving to innvoentions we see the apartments of the future, and the bottom may be like a restuarnt or something. leaving inoventions we see the new tomorrowland downtown. where autopia has been transformed into a city. inside the city there will be AA in the offices or maybe newly located office buildings? while there you will be able to rotate the pods kinda like buzz and there will be various things happening in the city to make it seem like a real downtown of the future, coming back we will learn about the space rangers defence force helping to protect the galaxy! what do you think? and please no one word answers unless its yes haha.

re: The Peoplemover Thread!!!(Merged Threads)

I never got to ride on the original Peoplemover. The first time I went to the park was in the summer of 06, and this summer is going to be my third visit to the park. The only Disneyland I know is the Disneyland of this decade, so I haven't really gotten to experience any old Disneyland rides that don't exsist anymore.

I really like your idea though. I think that they need to do something with the track. It looks REALLy tacky just sitting there with nothing on it. Just to clear something up, what is an Incredipod? I know that it has something to do with the Incredibles (fantastic film!), and there have been rumors about the ride coming back with an Incredibls theme.

re: The Peoplemover Thread!!!(Merged Threads)

Since everyone cares so much about theme here... This is the only way I see that the PeopleMover could work.

The Peoplemover was originally intended to showcase a possible Mass-transit system of the Future. Unless you do that again, IMO the PeopleMover won't have a place in Tomorrowland. Adding a "Incredi-pod" IMO does nothing for the theme of Tomorrowland.

I never see the point in bring back the Peoplemover for nostalgia. Isn't this "Tomorrow" Land?

I do agree that they need to do something with the tracks though.

It took "Finding Nemo" to bring back the subs (in a disappointing way IMHO). So much for theme.

Why would bring back the PM have to be for nostalgia? The Tomorrowland of today is by and large less representative of the future than the pre-98 version! That one was full of movement and hope! The current one is stagnant and a waste of time.

This, from someone who's grown up with the park and used to love Tomorrowland.

That's a really good idea. It's very creative, I'll give you that, but it sounds like a lot going on. It's pretty intense.

re: The Peoplemover Thread!!!(Merged Threads)

I agree that the movement in Tommorowland is part of what made it so popular. The Skyway, Peoplemover, rocket Jets up high, Subs... I grew up in the park too, and spent most of the time in Tommorowland. I think they should bring back the Peoplemover in a revamped form. Re-do the cars and the narration. Get creative with the inside rooms that Tron, etc. used to play in.

I'm not a big fan of the Incredipods. I think Tommorowland attractions should use an original theme, not borrow the ideas from recent movies.

re: The Peoplemover Thread!!!(Merged Threads)

Tomorrowland was a "World On the Move". That's why it was so popular.

Personally, I would like to see the PeopleMover as its own thing... A transportation system of tomorrow like the Monorail.

No one would want to re-theme the Monorail to a Pixar movie. The same should apply to the PeopleMover.
