    Is DLR turning japanese???

OK.. So.. Mickey's Fun Wheel now features elegant lighting of the likes that we have been seeing in Japan's many ferris wheels for like.. years now. Both the newly enhanced MSEP and new fireworks show feature music from Tokyo Disneyland (TDL's Dreamlights score for the parade, and TDL's 10th anniversary "It's magical" theme song for the pyro, newly rerecorded by some fancy operatic singer.) That is all great and dandy, but I wish there was a bit more originality here.. or even better, in the case of the parade, why fix it when the original score is so beloved and so perfectly wonderful?
Maybe I am just over analysing this issue.. or maybe I am jealous that CA still has that overall great quality unlike the stuff we see coming out of WDW, which in itself has benefitted from Tokyo Disney music lately.
I guess what I am trying to say is.. I miss the days when each and every park had a unique sound to go with, music that was unmistakenly "their own", as opposed to how much borrowed and reworked stuff is being interchanged around between Tokyo and the rest of the parks in the USA. Just a thought.

It would be a vast improvement if Disneyland follow in TDL footsteps in themeing, quality and character representation just not the crowds.

There is a train in TDL. It goes through/around Adventureland and Westernland. And I've seen firework shows many, many times there.

With the world economy going down the tubes, I am expecting to see alot more borrowing between Disney parks at least for a while.

I would love to see DLR be more like TDL in comparison to pictures I've seen. TDL is more Disney than Disneyland.
Took mom to Disneyland for the first time in over 20 years this week! Woo!

I also do not mind the Tokyo resort and the Anaheim resort borrowing things form eachother especially when it comes to entertainment. Both of those resorts are much more superior when it comes to that than Orlando.

At the same time both of them still have little things that set them apart. all we have to do is admire the additions that Anaheim did to the resorts entertainment. Dumbo finally flew and Pixie hollow shines bright with a beautifully done light and water show.

If only WDW would get with the program. TDO's management rides the short bus.

    I agree with OP.
The parks use to have their own individuality (especially each land...now it's the same merch crap in each land and now you can buy online).
And how can Tokyo be more orig. than the orig.???
I agree they (Disney) have gotten cheap and over seas parks are more willing to put money into the parks.

From what I remember off the top of my head, the reason it only goes through those lands is because if the train circled the park as it does in other DL style parks, the government would have control of it.

^Actually, it's a Japanese law that says rail lines with more than one station must charge a certain fee to board.

    ...I'm pretty sure.
