Whoa! Jungle Skipper Denies To Be Filmed! "You Can Record The Jungle But Not Me Sir"

I can only assume it has something to do with her being on camera and not maybe liking herself on video? This is the first time in the history of the parks that I have ever seen a Cast Member put it out there that they did not want to be filmed.

If that were me filming and I had mixed in shots of her talking with the jungle cruise ride would she have an issue with it and tried to get me thrown out? I understand the issue of respecting her wishes but aren't we the customer in a theme park. She MUST know what she got herself into when working as a Jungle Cruise Skipper.

I dont think it's that big of a deal. If the person doesn't want to be filmed, then they don't want to be filmed.

I think she asked in a very polite way that was quick, to the point, and really did not distract from anything. But I wonder if this is some rule?

When videotaping people, I always defer to anyone who has a microphone and a gun and knows where the crocodiles are.

Meh, not really worth recording anyway... it seemed like a very lackluster trip. I couldn't find anything within the official policy however the general policy of the Resort is to allow Photos and Video to be taken, unless directed otherwise at the attraction.

At this point in time, the guest was informed by the Cast Member, and notified what they could and couldn't record. However, the entirety of the situation was handled incorrectly, as well as in a rude manner.

If video taping is allowed on the ride, I'd say CASTmembers should be allowed to be recorded since they are part of the show. Do you think a cast member would get off stage at Horseshoe to say this to a guest? He's not even that close to her, sheesh.. She is not disneyland material fo sho. A good cast member would wave to the camera and say something fun so that they can interact with a guest. Thanks for creating an awkward moment in the guys vacation video.

Maybe she didn't want her image sprawled across YouTube and the like. Back in the day, filming a cast member on a ride would be for the purposes of home viewing I imagine, maybe showing to friends and family. Nowadays, I don't blame her. Who knows what people will do with her image once it's on-line.

Wow, what a hissy fit over nothing. Maybe she was joking around as some skippers are known to joke. The trip is about the jungle and stuff not the skipper anyhow. I think I have had her once as a skipper but cannot remember.

I did not see security on the dock or her talking to her lead. Where was
Anaheim police? I think the original poster was trying to make something of nothing. Part of the Jungle Cruise is the crazy sense of humour of the skippers. If someone told me to not take their picture or it would be underwater I would be worried but not on the Jungle Cruise.

I find it pathetic that people would dis the woman whom they do not know. Her spiel is standard for the ride and everything she said and did was just like what other skippers have said and done. Some have original stuff but there is a lot of old rehashed stuff out there. The length of the ride depends on the skipper and how crowded the ride is as I have been on fast rides and slow leisurely rides that spend more time stopping and interacting with the animitronics.

I wonder if she still works there and hope to meet her.

Disneyland is private property so the Disney corporation has the final right to say what can or cannot be videotaped. Go to City Hall and ask whether Jungle Cruise skippers can be videotaped or not. I imagine the Disney corporation would not have a problem with it, and if so, then the skipper erred and should be reprimanded and removed from the position by her employer.

I think it's ridiculous. If she didn't want to be filmed..she shouldn't work in a job where it's most likely that she would be. Why doesn't she load people onto Small World? I doubt anybody films those Cms. If you take a job as a jungle cruise skipper, you should accept the fact that people will want to film you.

I think they need to take her out of that job. This is Disney Land, half the fun is recording rides, etc and being able to relive the excitement whenever you want at home. Instead, he's going to have to relive a rude cm every time he watches it. That doesn't exactly portray a great side of Dl.

Cms are supposed to be a reflection of the parks. If she would have said that to me...it would have made me paranoid about what I could film the rest of the trip. Everytime I went on a ride with a Cm...I would have been scared to bring out the camera for fear of getting the same reaction, and embarassment. That definately would have tainted the trip and my memories.

I admit, I'm a pretty sensitive person. But, the cm shouldn't be in a job where she regularly has to make guests feel uncomfortable and feel like they are doing something wrong. She should be moved for the consideration of the guests.

I have not had a chance to view the video yet... hopefully it will be available later on. This is an old memo from a beloved Manager. I have cropped his name from the bottom but those who worked with him will recognize this memo immediately.

The reason I posted it is to demonstrate just how vital the Skipper is to the show itself. The Skipper is not the show, and should not be the show, but they are a part of it. I am not sure why someone who is camera shy would want to be a Skipper, unless it was a joke. Again I have not viewed the video and hope to see it at a later time.

In regards to vacation photos/video... I have HYSTERICAL stories involving both. Stories that range from prank photos, to sumo wrestling, to beauty pageant queens. We always had fun in photos. I was a Skip, a part of me will always be a Skip... it is by far one of the best jobs I ever loved.

We are told that even though we are part of the show, we are not the whole show. We would like you to enjoy the attraction, not us. This girl is one of the best CM's i've ever met. I hate being video taped, people take pictures with me all the time. But being video taped means someone can edit something to get me in trouble and whatnot. We have that right as a CM to decline video taping of ourselfs. Comments to yourself please, understand this CM might possibly be on this board and that was pretty rude and hurtfull.

Please do not make comments like that. She is an awesome CM and Disneyland is private property. We have every right to tell you what to do. Or what not to do. You are our guest, please understand this. We are not the whole show for you guys, only half of it.
