Been reading along for awhile and finally decided to register, as I can't contain my excitement for our upcoming Disneyland trip anymore! I moved out to Phoenix just under a year ago and have since visited Disneyland twice, once in late November to celebrate an engagement (visited both parks, one each day), and again in April of this year for my birthday (my fiance woke me up in the middle of the night and drove me out to Disneyland as a surprise). We are now going back again on the July 11-12 weekend to celebrate her birthday (sadly on July 13, so no free park admission, and I can't miss work as all my vacation time is saved for the honeymoon) and as a last hurrah before our wedding on July 25. We are taking along my brother (best man) and her sister (maid of honor). My brother (almost 20 years old) has never been out West, much less to Disneyland, so this will be his first visit. I have been to Disney World twice (when I was in kindergarten and again as a sophomore in college), and my brother being younger only attended the second trip, so this is his second Disney park experience, the first in seven years, and the first to DLR.
We are going to drive out the evening of July 10 (Friday), a few hours after my brother flies in from Arkansas, and stay at the Super 8 Motel just a block or so from the park. We are hitting up Disneyland from 7:30am-midnight on Saturday, hitting an early morning (6:45am Mass) a few blocks from the park on Sunday, then getting a few more DL hours in before DCA opens. We'll stay until about 7:00pm and drive back to Phoenix for a late night ride.
My plan is to use RideMax this trip so that we can get in nearly every ride and not spend all our day waiting in line. My fiance is not a fan of using iteneraries (she likes to be a free spirit at Disneyland), but as my brother is travelling so far, we want to get in as much as possible in this short amount of time. We plan to hit up the new Magical Fireworks and sneak our way into the later showing of Fantasmic! afterwards. Here's hoping the dragon works by then! We will sadly not get to see the Electric Parade, but I'm sure that will be around in one park or another in the future.
I'm super excited for our trip, and looking forward to spending more time in DCA, as we didn't go there in April, even though there are so many walls up right now. Just wanted to share my excitement with everyone!
