The only place I've heard WDI merch is for sale at is at WDI itself in Glendale.

Unfortunately, nope. Their store is called Mickey's of Glendale (joke on Frederick's of Hollywood). As the name suggests, the store is located in Glendale at WDI's private headquarters. You would definitely have to know someone or be on an Adventures by Disney tour to get into there. Your best bet would be to find something on eBay.
I'm literally a born Disney fan! I was born at Providence St. Joseph Med Center right across the street from Disney Studios in Burbank. The same hospital where Walt died.

I saw a guy wearing a Walt Disney Imagineering varsity style jacket in line for the subs.

Ebay is your most likely online resource if you don't know anyone. What size are you? And what are you looking for specifically? They change their styles regularly.

Mickey's of Glendale has a booth at the NFFC show and sale sometimes. I got an awesome retro WED Imagineering T-shirt there last year that I love.
The Mickey audience is not made up of people; it has no racial, national, political, religious or social differences or affiliations; the Mickey audience is made up of parts of people, of that deathless, precious, ageless, absolutely primitive remnant of something in every world-wracked human being which makes us play with children’s toys and laugh without self-consciousness at silly things, and sing in bathtubs, and dream and believe that our babies are uniquely beautiful. You know…the Mickey in us.

The NFFC has a couple of Disneyana Sales each year, near DL. One at the end of January, and one around DL's Birthday in July. The sale is open to the public (charge to enter the sale is around $5), and you are able to find all sorts of worldwide Disney collectors items. Quite often, Imagineering will have a large area, where they sell all sorts of items, from shirts, jackets, pins, coaster, bags, pens, etc. It's ususally the busiest of all the booths at the sale, and the one with the longest line. It's definitely worth checking out.

And with D23's 1st convention coming up in September, I wouldn't be surprised to see Imagineering there, too! I haven't seen any definite word on that yet, but think that would be a strong possibility.

True Al, I'd expect them at D23 too, I didn't think about that.

It would be great if Blue Sky Cellar in DCA could have some small merchandise items.

Such as Key Chains, pens, postcards, hats etc.

    Just an idea
