Sad Captain eo!

I was too young to ever see Captain EO. What was it like? Was it there just preceeding Honey I shrunk The Kids.

I wonder if they would ever bring it back for a short while as a tribute.

Assuming that the theatre just needs to be reprogrammed.

Re: Captain eo!

it was terrifying. I had to take my glasses off every time because of the spider lady. Other than that I'm sure for it's time it was cool. I bet if you try really hard you can find the video online.

Re: Captain eo!

I have memories of it as a kid. I think it would be a nice tribute if they brought it back briefly, specifically as a tribute. However considering the legal issues surrounding Michael I don't believe they would do this for fear of public backlash (not grave dancing, stating a fact). Disney is very cautious about their reputation so I it will be interesting to see what statement, if any, they give in regards to this. It's sad, he was a very talented singer and performer...

Disneyland is not a place for memorializing dead celebrities.

Re: Captain eo!

You can watch Captian EO on YouTube. It's divided into 2 parts. Of course it's not the same without the 3D glasses or or in-theater special effects ... but you'll get the general idea. In my opinion, it was pretty goofy - until Michael started singing. As weird as he was, he was a giflted performer. However, my 12 year old just watched the video with me and thought it looked really dated.

Re: Captain eo!

Perhaps a more appropriate tribute would be for various theaters outside the park to screen the movie... I think many would enjoy seeing it... again this is little more then a dream because the chances of such a showing even at the Downtown Disney AMC is slim to none.

The appropriateness of "Partners" could be, and has been, argued on these boards.

I was thinking the same thing (tribute)

I was never lucky enough to see Captain EO and was coming here this evening to post as to whether or not anyone would be in support of them bringing it back. I for one would love to see it in all it's dated yet timeless glory.
