Where's Dumbo?

Was anyone at Dland this week? We were there 6/23-6/25. Dumbo didn't fly the first 2 nights because of the wind, but Thurs. night he wasn't up either. The was almost no wind and Tinkerbell was flying. We had 2 little kids with us and they were asking where he was. We waited 3 1/2 hrs to watch it and nothing. That sucked. Does anyone know why he wasn't there?

Re: Where's Dumbo?

The practical answer is that wind of any significant sort prevents his flight because his two big ears turn into sails that cause him to careen out of control.

The short answer is, he had a Dumbofail.

I call them like I see them.

But let's be fair. Contrary to the persistent rumor, Disney does not control the weather, so it's not as if Dumbo will get written up as a FAIL in my blog. Or anything. Honest.

Re: Where's Dumbo?

Well Dumbo appeared tonight (6/26). So I guess it was probably wind.

Re: Where's Dumbo?

I saw the show tonight from the IASW facade, but apparently he flew (from the post on this thread).

When I went on Monday both Tink and Dumbo where nowhere to be found.

Btw, if you don't want to wait "3 1/2 hours", try walking over to the small world facade at 9:24, take a seat near the strollers, and wellah. It's a perfect view and the small world projections blow the castle's out of the water.

I waited for hours on monday and tonight I had a better experience. Just some helpful advice.

Good to know, I was wondering if they do projections on Small World. Thanks.

from my experience their appearance is a true gamble that some would rather not take.

tink, mary poppins, and dumbo are just a few of the characters that grace the facade.

Re: Where's Dumbo?

I've seen him fly twice now, and I still think it's amazing how he can fly backwards. And he can do it without even moving his ears.

That is one seriously talented flying elephant.

Re: Where's Dumbo?

I was watching the fireworks tonite near Goover! rode the small world and right as i got off, it was fireworks time. (that's what she said)

But i have to ask... when does dumbo actually fly? I had my head turned toward the matterhorn often to see if i could spot ANYthing at all. Saw nothing. Is it during Baby Mine?
