So they want Disney's California Adventure used or California Adventure?

California Adventure,

the reasoning being that everyone should know that it is a Disney theme park but that it will also maybe help stop the comparison with Disneyland which has such a big nolstalgia factor since it is attached to Walt Disney himself.


Interesting thing is that The Hollywood studio in WDW is still being refered to as Disney's hollywood studio.

I think that this subtle name change is the best option for the name of the park. Really, California Adventure should have been the name all along.

yeah i think its mostly a way of creating a sense of change for the park and seperate that nostalgia from the original.

Also i believe that even the turnstyles will have the Californa Adventure name minus the Disney

When the park first opened, CM's were told in no uncertain terms that the park was NOT to be referred to as DCA. But seeing how easily acronyms are easily latched onto, how would they react to having the park eventually referred to as CA? Doesn't have the ring that DCA has.

hmm interesting on the DCA topic but i would say that California Adventures is a lot better. Is the name change the one that rumours are referring to or is there another name change in store?

Hopefully the wrap around will be added, it would really embrace the pier aspect maybe even put a statue of Goofy fishing from the pier into the lagoon or lake to add a photo op!

it might be dificult to see in pictures but they did most of the cutting in advance.

I couldnt see that in any of the pics I checked on any of the updates. Do you have a pic of that by any chance? I was in the park just the other day and didnt see anything that looked like that...

Well I'm glad I have original DCA products from when the park was new. So I guess we'll be referring to the park as CA now?

in regards to the original Midway Mania concept. Glad we have the calmer more elequent (sp?) TSMM. Just seemed that going the way of over the top iconic characters would have been a step backwards.

I agree, the elegeant Victorian design is a lot nicer, though I love the idea for the Crush coaster, the vehicles seem cool, being shells and all, but I think the Goofy ride will be nice, too, especially near MFW & SSS, though Crush would blend in next to TLM, with the sea theme and all
